The Red Coat and Blue Sheets Are On

With the wind it was 26 degrees this morning and by late afternoon....43.

Sidney spends a lot of time on top of the stacked hay near a south window in the barn.  Has to be the warmest spot.

When I got in from chores I started a fire as the house was freezing.  Gary had yoga and went out to lunch with his pals.  Below is one of the pieces of wood I brought in.  Check out the texture.  How did that happen? Such a great design.

I made myself get up off my chair when Gary got home and went to Brockport for a few things.  Seymour's ear needs some attention again so I picked up another prescription at the Brockport Animal Hospital.  At least he had a break for the past few months.
On the way home it looked so cold.
The West side of the house is so warm from the solar heat (compared to the East side where the fire is going).  Yet....most of our time is spent in the kitchen.

The sun even reached into the dining room.
Seymour prefers being in the sunshine.
Chores at 5.  More beautiful skies....

and the pink returned.

Got the boys tucked in and we had an early dinner.  Rice and beans (chili) and a salad.  Yum.
Night all.

The neat patterns on the wood is from ants. It is the trails they make under the bark.

If the wood was ash, it could have been from the ash borer also. I see that a lot in our woods.
It's chilly here too, but it feels good.

The pattern on the wood is actually pretty. The sun streaming into you house looks so inviting.
