The Horse Dentist

Another bright and very cold day.

After chores I had to get on the John Deere to hunt for Little Wonder's red coat that he had lost within 15 minutes when we went to the barn.  I finally found it not the hill leading up to the hay loft.

Once we got back in the house he and Seymour were in sack mode.

The early afternoon sun was beaming into the kitchen....
and we had yet another new blossom.

Today we had to have a septic tank pumped out and afterward Gary worked on putting the dirt back in place.  It's always something.
The horse dentist arrived right at 3.  Rebel was not too excited....

but he was totally cooperative.

Buddy, on the other hand, was only cooperative for about 5 minutes and Jeff had to quit working on him.  He will have to be sedated in order for the job to get done so we will have to make another appointment.

By the time the boys were turned out, it was chore time.
Got them tucked in and it was leftover rice and beans for dinner.
Night all.

We have a shortage of people willing to do dental work. One of the very aged mules [29 yrs old] has few teeth left as does our old pony [31 ish?]. So there time here is not going to be much longer.
Yes, I mix up special feeds for them, but the old mule in the pasture refuses to be separated from her buddies even to eat!

Good for you, being such a good care taker of the equine!
