It was not quite 32 degrees this morning. A major frost. This is what it looked like at 6:30am.
Once again, the sun was blasting into the kitchen before I went out to the barn.
Every morning I have the same routine. Put on some water to boil for my beet pulp, let in the cats, feed them and LW, get carrots (sometimes apples too) ready for the ponies, put on the news, eat something little, sit in my chair with a heating pad on my back (LW on my lap), check my iPad and a little before 8 head out to feed the boys. Same thing every morning.
Now we have two new red blossoms.
The sky looked like this at 8am.
LW and I were both dressed for the weather.
I knew it was going to be in the mid 40s today, so no sheets for the boys.
Back in the house for awhile.
Alice arrived at 10.
Buddy and Rebel were happy to come in and by then it was about 40 degrees. So glad it was sunny..
As soon as we turned the boys out, they both headed for the water trough. What was that about?
Started a fire when I got back in the house and had some lunch. Little Wonder and I chilled for awhile..
Our friend Randy stopped by late afternoon to pick up some sill and korv that Gary brought back from Jamestown. For decades they used to make their own korv (Swedish sausage) from scratch. He brought us a beautiful poinsettia, which I put on the kitchen table.
When he left, it was chore time and I forgot to take pictures. Oh well.
Made a quick, simple dinner.
Night all.

I don't know a thing about Scandinavian food. I know, I'm from Minnesota, but not all Minnesota is Northern European! The grooming must have been thirsty work for those boys. We are frozen solid here. It's currently 16 degrees.
