We Will All Be Missing Maggie....

It turned into a very sad day at Skoog Farm.

A 10am I worked with the grandchildren of some friends
out in the Studio.
They will be here everyday for a week and we are
starting out with Papier Mache

After they left I started mowing the pastures....

I just have one section left for tomorrow.
Once again, Gary spent a lot of time gardening

Around 4 the vet came out to take x-rays of Maggie's foot
and planned to give spring shots to all the horses.
Berlin was fine and Rebel had a temperature!
So no shots for him and I have to worry about what's
going on.
The x-rays were filled with bad news.
Maggie did not have an abscess....she had a fracture.
She was put down.  So sorry Karen lost this very sweet mare.
We had the rest of the horses go see her afterward in the indoor
so they would realize what happened.
Rebel was the last to come in.

Karen joined us for pizza and now I am going out to take Rebel's temperature.
Night all.

PS
I'm going to miss seeing this sweet face every morning.

No words can fill the gap but you will always have your darling girl in your heart. A heap of love and more from down south.xxxxxx

That's so sad. Poor Maggie and my heart goes out to Karen. It's so hard to lose a friend. It always seems to happen so suddenly. You're never expecting something like this to happen. So sorry for your loss.

Hope Rebel's temperature is gone. Ours get a temp sometimes when they've contracted Lyme's. Hanz had it recently and he's better now after medication.
