Winter Gala...

Once again, Phoebe pooped out on me and went back in the house when I went out to the barn.
But not Little Wonder.  He stuck it out until I was finished with chores.

It was so cold I brought the apples in from the back porch so they would not freeze.
At 10:30 I had an appointment with the massage therapist.
Hot stones.  I really needed it.
I bought all the cats new beds today.  Two out of three were the wrong size and I had to exchange them.  The pups went along for the ride to make sure I got it right.

At 3:30 I went over to Carina's Boutique sale.
All kinds of things.  Her bread, honey, jewelry, jam and much more.
I bought goat milk soap.

On my way home you could see the moon....and beautiful clouds.

Chores had to be done a little early as I had to be cleaned up and ready to go by 5:30.

We drove into Rochester with Brenda and Al.

The College at Brockport and the Brockport Foundation presented the
Inaugural Winter Gala at the Hyatt.
The College honored five organizations for their dedicated commitment to the College
and its students.  There was also a live auction and bidding to build.
We started off grazing....

400 people fill the room and we had
a delicious dinner.

Many thanks to Kathy and Steve (Sara's Garden and Nursery) from the ten of us who enjoyed filling their table.
Gary, Lori, Jenny, Scott, Brenda, Al, Lorna, Dan, Mary and Adam.
It was a terrific evening!
How about those elegant centerpieces that were created today by Kathy and her helpers!

Our College President, Heidi Macpherson, opened the program.
We are so fortunate to have such a community minded person in her position.
The awards were presented by graduates of SUNY Brockport who are now
working at local tv and radio stations.

Pam Sherman was the perfect person to be the auctioneer...
she had no trouble getting people to bid.
Ashley Wilson is a student who will be receiving her masters in 2017.
She was awarded scholarships that made it possible for her to attend SUNY Brockport.
A fine example of what can happen as these awards change their lives forever.
Over $100,000 was raised tonight for scholarships and research grants.

Julie Swenson introduced our keynote speaker
William "Bill" Fichtner, who graduated in '78 and became an actor.
His address was outstanding....many great stories filled with humor.

Garth Fagan was there with some of his associates
(Garth Fagan Dance...."Lion King").
He is a great supporter of this community.
Karen, Karen and Darlene were also there along with scores of other people that we knew.

The entire even was a great success.
 Night all.

Looks like a great gala and everyone had a good time.

I like the goat milk soap and also the goat milk hand lotion. I think you'll enjoy it.
