Flowers....Everywhere

We got half an inch of rain last night but nothing today.  The temperature hit 80 and it was muggy.

Little Wonder and I went for a little walk to grab some photos of all the colors in our yard,

I worked on dinner when we got back in the house.  Started off with a big batch of bean salad

and then got the ingredients together for  zucchini parm (which I finished just before we ate). Also picked some lettuce.
Somehow, this little green critter got into our kitchen and it was chirping so it would be noticed.
I took this video and then caught him in a jar so he could go back outside.
Another hibiscus blossom appeared.

I got a haircut this afternoon and stopped at Weggie's on the way home.
Fortunately I had leftover Mac and cheese to go with the bean salad and zucchini for dinner.
(Little Wonder is sitting next to me in some good light).

Night all.

3 Appointments

A gorgeous day that ended with a lot of humidity.  Sandra, I hope you have not sent us your 110 heat index number from Minnesota.  I was able to make a last minute appointment with my doctor this morning...already had one with the chiropractor at 2.  Had not seen Big Bertha for weeks.

After that I went to the lab for some blood work.
I have never seen such huge hydrangeas.
The village was very quiet on my way home.

Little Wonder and I took it easy for awhile...

then I made dinner.  Mac and cheese with a tomato/cucumber/shallot/crouton salad.
I have two hidden ingredients for you when you are making the cheese sauce....A tablespoon of chicken bouillon and a tablespoon of honey mustard at the end.
It has been pretty comfortable in the house for many days. Hope it stays that way,

We ate very early and I plan to do nothing now.
Night all.
And now for the Scott and Jenny updates.
She grabbed a few shots for me between meetings.  Looks like she is eating well.

Rain is on the way and fortunately Scott and Doug were able to get a lot done on the dormers.

It's going to look very different once the addition is up.

The Eagles Have Landed

Jenny left for London yesterday afternoon and landed at 2:15am our time.  In the meantime, Ariana and Kurt flew from Washington State to Croatia and they will be joined by Daniela tomorrow.

After having no sleep, Jenny went out to catch some sites before meetings started. I appreciate all the photos she has sent.

Vedrana, Ariana's grandmother, spends many months at her home in Croatia and she was very happy to see these two.
So what about Scott?  He is at home working on the house with his contract pal, Doug F.  They have made so much progress.  This little cape will now have dormers and
a two car garage topped with a great room.  A lot will be done by the time Jenny returns.
Meanwhile back at the ranch....  It was a busy morning.
I mowed the lawn and front paddock.  Finn came up to help Gary with weed whacking, moving manure to the gardens (that have been picked) and they took down two big branches that were blocking the gate to the small pasture.

I went out to Glen Darach farm with Little Wonder to groom Buddy and give him some carrots and apples.  It was hot and buggy so several of the horses were inside where it was cooler.

Buddy was still shedding.  I'm glad I was able to get more hair off him.

The flys were bugging his face so I put on a mask I'd brought out when he moved.

No one else was there and LW wandered around panting.

He was happy to get in the car for the second half on his ride.
We had a different dinner tonight...all done on the grill.  I sliced up a fresh pineapple and basted it with brown sugar and butter.  Also sliced up three potatoes (raw) and they got basted with butter/oil/parsley.
On top of that, Gary grilled two boneless pork chops.  So good.

We are expecting rain for the next few days.
Night all.
