Limbo

Not a whole lot of excitement today.  Chores. Wegmans. Electrician here to put a switch on the heater for the water trough, cleaned and refilled the water trough, got some photos together for a book. Chores.  Dinner.  Pretty chilly today....and so dark.

Little Wonder tried on his new black coat.  It's like a horse blanket.

A little too long in the back, but we can deal with that.
No need for it during potty breaks....yet.

This afternoon I made some rice pudding to go with dinner.
As per usual, Rebel
and Seamus came in with plenty of rolling evidence.

Dinner was so good and very Swedish.  Grilled ham, deviled eggs, pickled beets and the rice pudding.
Night all.

No More Turkey

One ugmo day.  Lots of rain and wet horses.  Started out ok and by noon there was a big change.

I dragged the ring before coming back to the house as Janet and Ronin had a lesson with Dawn at 11.

They both made great progress.

Within half an hour it started to pour and I went out to put sheets on Rebel and Seamus.  Rebel was dry and under the shed roof... Seamus was already soaked....and Ronin already had a sheet on.
I put plenty of hay out for them....but they preferred to be in the rain.

By evening chore time all three had rolled in the indoor and they were covered in sand.  Fortunately I was able to clean off their sheets and it was warm enough for them to be naked tonight.

We are so sick of turkey.  Went down to Barbers for dinner and listened to the patrons going crazy over a Raider's game.

Sidney was all comfy when we got back.

Night all.

Scrumptious Green Grass Hay...At Last

What a day.  Sunny.  Near 50 degrees.

A little before noon our friend Jerry brought us 50 bales of spectacular hay that he picked up in Wyoming, down near Warsaw.
Janet's friend, Marci, brought her son Jackson along to help stack.

Gary, Jerry and moi.....we are all 79 years old and can't believe we are still doing this!

With so many people, it was put away in 15 minutes.  Very grateful to have help. Jackson was a dynamo.
Turkey salad sandwiches for lunch.  Almost all gone....I can't wait.
Little Wonder and I took it easy while Gary worked on a garden and got rid of the remaining mulch.

Started on dinner and went out to do chores a little before 5.
Rebel was a disaster....covered in dry mud.

We could not be happier with the hay and hope to get 50 more bales.
I took the remaining mashed potatoes and mixed them with fried onions and cheddar cheese.  Fried them and they browned, but were still mushy....(delicious tho).
Served them with breaded boneless pork chops, a salad and pickled beets.  So good.
Night all.
