Limbo...

 

 It was ugly out there this morning.  Not a lot of snow, but sleeting, raining and slippery mush.

 Had a piece of fruit and went down to Agape...Gar met me there after coffee.  We are in the exercise groove and eventually it should pay off.  It's been extra fun, as we have met the parents of Jen's friend Kristen and we do a lot of chatting between sets.

 Our power was off from 9:45-1:30...have not heard why yet.  I was grateful to have a woodstove as the house was getting chilly.  Of course I had to plunk down in front of the fire and read....again.

Gary went down to watch Finn and Coop, and eventually I went out to do chores.  Sara, Terry and Annette know how much I love to enter Abbe into the "Biggest Piggy" contests.  After getting her blanket good and soaked she went and rolled in the indoor.  Yuck!

 Nice!

 Of course my darling Berlin was spotless.

 Hot dogs (no nitrates) and beans for dinner...

 the salad had pears and craisins.

 

My orchid is still blooming.

Once again, this was not a picture taking day.

A Turning Point...

 

It was a little hazy looking in the back 40 this morning....like there was a cloud touching the ground.

 By the time the horses ate their breakfast, the sun was out in full force and I made sure their hay and water were placed in the rays.

 It was still very cold in the shade, but ummmmmmm ummm...did that sun feel good.

 

 Gary watched the boys this morning, so I soloed.  No problem.

 With the temperature going into the mid twenties I was eventually able to take the sheets off (that I had put on top of their blankets when it was so windy and frigid).

Mid morning I went across the street to help Paula supervise her steeds.  It was the first time Finnegan was put in the pasture with the minis.  So far, so good.

 Had a 2pm meeting in Brockport.  As mentioned before, our Art & Aesthetics Committee is going to have another auction to raise funds for a mural (about the Canal) that will be placed on a building in the village.  This afternoon we sent out letters to local artists in order to get donations.  We were at the home of Alicia F., who makes stunning jewelery.  This is a necklace she just finished for Margay (who happens to be working on this project).

 Isn't it spectacular?

On the way home I picked up a few things at Wegmans and went out to do chores at 5:15.

 We could have some freezing rain by morning, with the temperature heading toward 40.

 

 

By the way...I'm so hooked on the Kindle I stayed up way to late last night to finish "The Litigators"

and today had trouble keeping my eyes open.  So, like Seymour, I'm going to sack out early.

More Food....

 Once again I was freezing when I went out to the barn.

 At that time, is was just plain grey.

 Before long, the sun came out and the sky was brilliant.

 

 

 When I got back in the house I picked up the kindle and read and read and read.

At 11:30 my friend Barb picked me up and we drove over to Higbies so she could pick up some hay cubes before we went out to lunch.  When we moved to our farm 31 years ago I got all my grain there and they used to deliver (at that time I had up to 10 horses and it was a great service).  That came to a screeching halt many years ago and as soon as Country Max was built in Brockport, I started picking up my own feed and supplies right down the road from our house.  A piece of cake with just two horses.

 We ended up eating lunch at Stone's, which we passed on the way home.  Thanks Barb, I did not expect you to treat!

 When we got back to the farm, Gary had a fire going and....I sat down on the hearth and read some more.

Chore's a little after 5.  It just might be a little warmer tomorrow, and the temp may hit 50 on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Such insane weather.

 All these weather adjustments are not the greatest for my girls.

 The moon was gorgeous by the time they were tucked in.

 I made some coleslaw to take down to a Pro-Brockport Pot Luck dinner and we were off to the village.  This group is loaded with people who are committed to the improvement of our community through their positive efforts.  They volunteer in many ways....at the Welcome Center, planting trees, developing community gardens and much more... there game is to pay it forward.

 There was music....

 about 40 people....

and tons of good food.
