Wild weather today.
Gary and I worked on the house to get ready for tonight's thanksgiving feast. Of course I had to make one final trip to Wegmans.
The temperature was in the mid 50s this morning and by this afternoon that changed. All of a sudden the wind kicked up and it rained like crazy. Blew the rest of the leaves off the willow tree and I could not see where the horses were hiding.
The turkey was so big I had to get it in the oven by 11 in order to be done by 6, when Jenny, Scott, Coop and Finn were coming for dinner. Managed to do that, then I made a Waldorf Salad and finally, the dry stuffing. Surprise! Surprise! The turkey was done by 4:30 so we wrapped it with tin foil and let it rest.
At 4:30 I took a shower and went out to tuck in Rebel and Buddy. They were wet.
Little Wonder chose to join me.
It was very dark, and our barn light made everything look green. Why does that happen?
The crew arrived at 5:30 and we had time to sit by the fire before we ate.
Jenny brought a squash casserole with red onions, spinach and caisins.
I made a Waldorf Salad.
We gave Jenny some of our potatoes, which she prepared.
I made dry stuffing.
Jenny thought her plate was picture perfect. Mine looked the same. Loved the cranberry orange relish with this combination of flavors.
She also brought a pumpkin pie, a cherry pie and apple crisp.
We ended the night back by the fire.
And now they are gone and Gary is doing the dishes.
Night all. I am so tired!

Happy Thanksgiving Lori. Your feast looks amazing and so much work to prepare. It’s nice you are flexible so your kids can be with other family tomorrow. Kathy
