Not quite as frosty as yesterday, but still cold. Big rain is on the way for tomorrow and Friday.
Little Wonder kept me company while I checked out my computer and did a couple things around the house.
I put together some sauerkraut and kept it in a crockpot until it was time to start on lunch. Our friends Doug and Linda were coming over to eat and then they were going to help me link my computer and iPad so I could add new music. They are both good IT people and it was done in about 10 minutes.
Had this great idea to show how I make my Reubens....AND FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE FINISHED PRODUCT! But here goes.
Pumpernickel bread topped with homemade Russian dressing.
Swiss cheese on both sides.
Pastrami on one side.
Lots of sauerkraut.
I melted butter and brushed it on before putting them in a panini maker. Trust me....they were beautiful.
Served them with roasted potatoes and Gary's homemade dill pickles. Delicious!
Little Wonder and I took it easy after they left.
Chores at 6. No intention of making dinner. Maybe a bowl of cereal.
OK. I'm starting to get hungry.

You certainly make yummy meals! We have a panini maker, too, so enjoy those flat and well toasted sandwiches.
Yesterday we got 1.4" of rain with more most of today. Have your Wellies available!

Delicious looking Ruebens, one of my favorite all time sandwiches! Well, maybe the rain is needed? I don't know. We had rain the night before but not hard. It is just cold now.
We must be sending you the rain. We needed it. Leave out the sauerkraut and I like the sandwich. There is a name for it but I forgot it.
Darn..my mouth is watering!
