Mulching....

What a gorgeous day.  In the 60s and so clear.

Gary had yoga and went out to lunch with his pals.
Mid mooring I decided to mow the lawn so I could mulch the leaves before they get too deep.

Some of our gardens are still full of flowers.

This year, we are trying to turn what used to be a big garden behind the Studio into one that is much smaller.  There are 6 blueberry bushes and a modest row that is almost ready for planting (garlic).  Grass has filled in the space and eventually the ground should end up more level.

We are not into raking, as our lawn is over 1 1/2 acres.  I will have to mulch a couple more times.

Gary took a ladder over to the apple tree and picked a couple of buckets.  Most will go to the horses, and we will also make some applesauce.

Dinner was another replay.

Chores at 6.

The light was very dramatic at this hour.

Night all.

A lovely autumn! We're near Richmond, VA so your trees are ahead of ours in changing colors.
It's always a treat to see Rebel and Buddy!

Hugs!

Your flowers are beautiful. Your lawn is amazing - your mulching mower works well! From what I learned and recall from Master Gardener training, mulching smaller amounts is healthier for your lawn as the pieces have a chance to break down before the next layer is added.
