Today it Felt like -7!

At 6am I was shoveling a path to the gate in the front paddock.  Fortunately the snow was very light.

When I got to the barn it was not terribly windy and I put hay in two places for the boys.  Originally I was going to leave them in their stalls, but they were out until a little before 11.  As soon as I saw them in the open pasture with their butts to the wind they were put back in.  Way too cold.

When chores were finished, I shoveled a little more and then ran a couple of errands.  After that it was time to do nothing.  I had 10,000 steps in by noon.  Little Wonder did not go out with me morning or night.  Smart boy.  His choice.
Went back out a little after 4 to turn Rebel and Buddy out, then reset the stalls for dinner.
Still serving a bran mash and warm water.  The barn temperature was around 20 degrees.

Dinner was the same as what we had last night.  Now it's time to get back by the fire.
Sidney has been spending most of his time in the house.  He has an igloo made of hay in the loft of the horse barn....I think that is where he goes when he ventures out.  But still.  Way too cold.
The fires in California are devastating.  I keep thinking of what it must be like for so many families and what I would do.  All the animals....
Night all.

Frosty, indeed, and you accomplish so much even in this cold. We had about 6" of snow Sunday night and Monday, and it's been too cold for much to thaw yet. What a bother to have to put on coat, hat, gloves, and boots before going out the door. Little Wonder has the right idea! Love the photo!!

Hugs!
