Raining!

No sunshine.  Rain.  37 degrees and then more rain turning to snow.

The boys were dry for about 1 hour, and then their blankets got soaked. It's a good thing they are waterproof. The rain was light, but steady for hours and hours.

I moved their hay under the shed roof but they ignored it and went out to the back pasture so they could really get soaked.

Gary wanted to go down to Greg'rys bakery for some cookies and first we went for a sandwich at the Bergen Family Restaurant.  I haven't been there in over a year.  It's like a 1940s diner.
It was raining a little harder when we go home....

so Little Wonder and I went out to the barn and tucked in Buddy and Rebel.

They were in for about 3 hours and then got turned out again while the stalls were reset for the night.  By then it was snowing and  I'm afraid it's going to be very icy tomorrow.  The snow melted in just one spot and they found some grass.

Back in for the night.

No dinner since we went out for lunch. Not remotely hungry.
Night all.

This is how I make chicken Helen.

I took one chicken breast, sliced it in half, put it in a plastic bag and pounded it with an iron frying pan so it would get thin....like a cutlet.  First I dipped it in an egg wash and then into a mixture of breadcrumbs and Romano cheese (not that much cheese).  Put a little oil in a frying pan and browned it on both sides before putting it in the oven (350) with some sliced carrots.  Topped it with honey mustard  and covered it with a lid.  Does not take very long in the oven.  Maybe 30 minutes and the carrots were soft.  Great flavor.  Let me know if you try it.
