Talk About Wind!!!

I let the horses out after they were grained so I could clean the stalls.
The hay was hung in bags under the shed roof to give them a little protection from the wind.  The stalls were set up and my intention was to put them back inside, but they were not interested.
Phoebe wanted to go back in the house before I even opened up the paddock gate.

Of course Little Wonder was all in and toughed out the craziness.

Fortunately the flowers in the house added a little zip to my day.

When Gary got back from Java he and I went to TJ MAXX
where I accidentally found the perfect piece of furniture for
one of the rooms upstairs.  I had been looking at Day Beds but they just didn't fit the space.  Needed something smaller.
After we loaded it in his van I took him out to lunch at Grind's.

We moved the piece into the house and then I went out to the barn to see if the girls were finally ready to take a break from the wind.
Success.
In Batavia (about 20 some miles from here) they clocked wind gusts up to 75 miles per hour.  Not quite that bad here but we don't expect things to settle down for several more hours.

We went from blue skies to snow flurries...
and I picked up dozens of shingles that had blown off the roof.
Here we go again....the roofer has not repaired the roof damage from last March.

Gary has been looking after one of our neighbors for years and she is now going to have to move out of her house so she can have more help.  Today her son and his wife sent us a fabulous apple Danish as a thank you.  We were happy to hear that Marilyn is now in rehab and improving.

I wonder how long it will be before Gary can put this hydrangea in the ground.

And look what's ready to bloom again!  My most incredible hibiscus.
This afternoon I was feeling ambitious and started getting things ready for dinner.
We are still into peaches and jello....a no brainer.
 I made an asparagus salad
with tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, cheddar cheese and Italian dressing.
Served it with baked organic chicken and leftover rice.
Here is the settee (or whatever I should call it) that I bought today.
The room is small and it's just the right size.

Now both small bedrooms have been reconfigured.
Gary has a study (below) and the room above would be a perfect hideout for reading.
I must be feeling better, as I am much more motivated...
taking photos.
Night all.

Your furniture must surely be related to quilting fabric, that just happens to jump into my hands!! Lovely fabric, great design, and perfect for the room. Wind, that looks like a " Very bad hair day" for the doggies.Hope the roofer gets his act together and fixes it properly.

LW really shows how the wind was blowing! Love the flowers too. The settee is perfect and pretty. I'm looking for something like that too, the daybeds I find just don't do it for the small room I have. We had fog and rain all day but the wind is blowing now, I'm hoping no more trees come down.

Dear Lori, we had a wind like that--I don't know what it clocked at--on Tuesday evening. I thought the tree in the front yard might blow down. The wind whistles and screeched and battered the house. I haven't looked up at the roof, but I haven't seen any shingles in the yard, so I'm hoping all is well.

An asparagus salad is one of the great delights of spring! Peace.

Love the shot of LW in the wind!
Our weather is very odd, winds, rain, snow, winds...
A settee! I should think about something like that for the upstairs extra room I have. It would really look quite nice.
