SHEPHERD'S MILL...

The sawdust gets blown from the mill to this shed....

Darrin and Justine are waiting for the sawdust to be dumped into the trailer...

You can't imagine all the wood that is stacked inside. They make hundreds and hundreds of wooden crates that local farmers use for apples.

Huge logs are automatically rolled over to the main saw....

This is a rescue dog that was adopted from the Humane Society 4 years ago.  He goes to the Mill with his owner everyday.  In the winter, a wood burning stove is going while work is being done, and this pup loves to stay right next to it.

There must be a lot of dust particles in the air...it can't all be orbs!!!!

This is Jim Stymus...he is the owner of the Mill.

Today we went to get sawdust.  Winnie's family volunteered to pick it up, so I went along to show them how to find the mill and secure the tarps so it didn't all blow away on the way home.  What a difference having help...it was unloaded in half an hour.  The stalls are like feather beds.

Is that fine hard wood dust, or more course pine sawdust? We have a hard wood mill that gives it away free, but it is too fine to use in cages (I'm referring to rats, etc.). I wish I could use sawdust with my animals...
