We have two English Walnut trees and now is the time to gather them. (Esther and Nea, do you ever make "Swedish Nuts" at holiday time?") When they fall from the trees they are green. After a few weeks they turn black, then the shell peels away and voila! There is a walnut as nice as you could buy at the store.
