Rest In Peace

I got up very early this morning as we were driving to Jamestown with Jenny and Scott for my brother's funeral.  Chores as usual.

Alice arrived a little before 8:30 to babysit Buddy, Rebel, Little Wonder and Sid.  So appreciative.
We made it to Lind's Funeral Home before 11 and started off looking at pictures from the past.  There must have been over a hundred.  Here are a few.
Gary and John were good pals.
He wrestled when he was in high school.
Here he is with daughter....Kate.
When the kids were very young they all came to the farm and did a little riding.
Nick, Jenny, Kate and my brother.... and PC.
It was so good to see his son Nick, who was there with his wife Olivia.
Katie (his daughter) and Jenny look like sisters!
Here I am with three of my cousins that I had not seen in decades!
Curt and Susie Westrom were there (high school friends) and I did not get a photo of Jane Kidder before she left.  So nice to see them.

After the service we went to the cemetery and then took a drive up the lake to see the house I was raised in.  Several years ago the people who bought it built another big home on the property where we used to have 9 small cabins.

Before meeting the family for lunch, we stopped at Ryders Cup in Lakewood, for coffee.

I loved living on Chautauqua Lake when I was a kid!  Below is a picture of Lakewood Beach, which was a very popular hangout.
Our last stop was a very nice restaurant in Jamestown, where we had a spectacular lunch and a chance to really spend some time with family.

Gannon, Nick, Katie,Vickie, Harvey, Olivia, Jenny and Burke.
Gannon, Harvey and Burke are Katie's sons (she is my brothers daughter).  Nick is my brother's son and he is married to Olivia.  Vickie is my brother's wife.  A real family reunion.

We got back to the farm before 6 and this amazing bouquet was waiting for us on the kitchen table.  It was from Vedrana Grgas (Steph' mother-in-law) and Family.  So thoughtful.
Changed my clothes and went out for chores.

Can't wait to get me feet up and have Little Wonder take a snooze on my lap.
Night all.

Hugs to you. I have yet to face the loss of a sibling, and can't imagine the hurt. Your brother's death must leave a huge hole. It is nice to see so many family members come together to support one another in their grief.
