The Bills Made a Comeback

This morning I had to turn on the heater in the water trough until it got above freezing.  Not too much snow, but we sure have been having a lot of wind.

After chores we got a nice call from our granddaughter, Daniela, who was driving from Kansas City to Wisconsin.  She spent Thanksgiving with Steph, Joe and Ariana.  Anyway.....like Jenny, Steph and Ariana....she likes to use her driving time to catch up and we always love talking to her.
I made BLT wraps for lunch.  I think we are turkeyed out.
Mid afternoon I was back on the phone again for a nice long chat with my friend Carol B., who is in Boston with Topper at their daughter's home.  Love staying in touch.

Seeing that we stayed up very late (VERY late) last night watching the end of a series,  we were in nap mode this afternoon.
The Bills game started at 4:30 and that got our attention.

I missed a few minutes while doing evening chores, and when I went out to the barn they were losing.

So dark, and it was not even 5pm.

We did have a little rain and the boys chose to get wet.

Back in for the rest of the game.  So glad they rallied.
Here I am sporting my winter socks...part of one of my winter barn ensembles.
Night all.

The Fence

A sunny and very windy morning.

Finn and Coop came up a little before 9:30 to help Grampa with the fence and gate in the back pasture.
Little Wonder and I drove the car back two or three times to help deliver some of the tools etc. that were needed.
And of course I had to grab some photos.  These two boys are learning how to do a lot of things from Gary.

This fence went up in 1981 and this section needed some serious help.  More to go after today.
Sidney loves sacking out on the heaters in the kitchen, especially after he has been outside.

He thinks the couch is pretty comfy too.
Out at 4:50 for chores and it was too dark to take any pictures outside.

I bought more shavings today and should be good through February now.

Back in the house and happy to have the fire going.
A picnic dinner.
Night all.

No Cooking Tonight

Felt like 13 degrees this morning (but the temperature went up to 33) so off came the sheets and on went heavier blankets.

Fortunately the water trough was not frozen.  I keep it covered at night and it really helps.

We decided to have dinner for lunch today and it was a replay of Thanksgiving.
That's why I'm not cooking tonight.
I listened to an interview with John Grisham this morning and since I have read at least 20 of his books (he has written 51 and they all have been best sellers)....
and was so motivated, I went down to the library and found this one.  I have been out of my reading groove for at least 2 years.  Maybe this will get me going.
Took a long nap this afternoon (lunch) and did chores at 5.

Little Wonder graced me with his presence both morning and night.
Gary moved leaves for over an hour and was ready to hang out by the fire....and I will be right out there getting warm after I post this.
Night all.
