Sailor's Delight

A busy day...... sort of.

Gary went to Yoga and out to lunch.  While he was gone I made sure the upstairs was ready for company and dug out an entire tote's worth of clothing to donate to an event I am going to tomorrow night.  Got the fire going and had lunch before 3 friends (Gary, Darryl and Nancy) came over to make some music.  Darryl was happy to see that my bass was back in gear and with the new batteries it came through the amp loud and clear.  He played it the whole time and we started off with some blues for a warm up.  All of our music is so different from what She Sings played.

They were gone by 3:30 and I took it easy before chores.  By 4, the color of the sky was changing.  So pink!

It was not quite 5 at this time.

Got the boys tucked in and finished getting dinner together.  Simple.  Meatball sandwiches and bean salad.
I made a simple centerpiece for the kitchen table.

Night all.

Maybe Tomorrow

First of all I am walking better today.  No cane.  Pretty sure I must have strained a muscle and am at about 50%.

Not quite as cold as yesterday and it should be even better tomorrow.

We've had little spurts of snow, but there can't be more than 3 inches on the ground.

Gary left at 8:30 to pick up a friend and they met another in Batavia for breakfast.  When he got back I went to Wegmans and Aldis....mainly for some fruit.  After seeing the lasagna my friend Sandra made last night, I decided to make some pasta with meatballs for dinner (since I did not have on hand what I needed to make lasagna).
Got in a short nap before evening chores.  In just a few days it's going to start staying light longer and that will make me very happy.

Got the boys tucked in and

the temperature in the barn was almost 25.  Last night it was 20 and the same this morning.
Little Wonder snuck out without his black coat tonight.
A neighbor brought over some apples for the horses.  A nice treat to go with their carrots.

I made so much sauce I am going to freeze some for meatball sandwiches and another container for a repeat of tonight's dinner.
I sure love having the Twinkie lights on.
Night all.

PS
Barbara....how can I contact you?  I want to know more about your potato casserole.

Felt Like -2 This Morning

I need a break from these cold mornings....so do the horses.  Since I pulled something yesterday, here is the cane I'm using.  It was carved by my friend Al C. when I had a knee replacement many years ago and I love it.  Fortunately I'm about 40% better than I was yesterday.

Chores as usual.  So cold.

We were all happy to get back in the house.  Sidney is one smart cat....loves to be by the fire

It was game day for the Bills and we spent the afternoon watching it.
After a very slow start, they came back in the second half and won!
Chores a little early again.

For some reason, LW wanted to come out with me tonight.  The barn temp was 21 degrees.

We had a delicious dinner tonight.  Pork medallions with caramelized onions/soy sauce/honey mustard and peach jam....Jasmine rice, peas and salad.
I still have not been in a picture taking mode, so every day looks the same.
Night all.
