Progress Was Made Today

A little milder and no rain.

All the hay is gone from my feed room, and now I am getting it from the big stall.  As per usual, I always worry about having enough.  Still have 85 bales upstairs.

I was happy to catch Buddy drinking out of the water trough.  When I move it for the winter, I want to make sure they have found it.  They must remember.  Right?
After chores I watched the interview with the Epstein survivors and was very moved by their strength and what they had to say.  I'm sure it had an impact on those who voted in the House and Senate.  I did not expect it to get through the Senate so smoothly.  Still think T has something up his sleeve.  MJ's comments before the Senate vote sure were interesting.  He wanted them to add amendments and get it postponed.

4 new blossoms today!  Wow!

Sidney was in his usual position near the fire.
John and Gary were coming over to play some music, so I started a fire and set us up in the kitchen.

We only worked on a few songs and then John played one that he wrote about his mother.  He had no clue I was taking a video.
Chores at 5.

Dinner was a repeat....just the salad was different.

Time for us to get back out by the fire.

Night all.

What Will Tomorrow Bring?

Woke up to snow on the ground this morning.

Little Wonder had to wear his black coat.
We had another new blossom.  When I changed around the kitchen yesterday this plant was moved to the living room, where the light is entirely different.  Let's see if the rest of those buds pop.
Right after chores I made a quick trip to Wegmans and Country Max.  Home by 9:45 so Gary could go to a meeting at the college.  I found Sidney asleep on the bed.

I decided to get going on dinner.  Par boiled some Italian sausage and then browned it with some peppers and onions.  Added a sliced tomato and put it in a crock pot.

Then I made some rice putting so we would have a little dessert around this place.
A fire was going by noon.
Took it easy before going out for chores.  By then the snow had melted.

LW did not need his coat tonight.

Sidney was still napping.  This time.....by the fire.
Finished making dinner.  Some spags with olive oil, butter and Romano cheese....
topped with the Italian sausage/peppers/onions/tomato/and more cheese.
I'm into these simple cucumber/onion salads topped with feta cheese.
So good.
Night all.

PS

On the political front.....

I can't wait to see what happens in congress tomorrow regarding the release of the Epstein files.
Anyone who votes against it must think rape and sex trafficking is ok and they should never be elected again.  In the end, the women who were raped and abused by him and his pals should reveal the names.  Let the chips fall where they may.  T probably has something up his sleeve.  Do you think the Rs will start standing up for other things?

Rain This Morning...Snow Tonight

It was a crazy day weatherwise.  We must have gotten a lot of rain last night, but it eased off by the time I finished chores.  Very windy too.
One of the hibiscus plants must have 8 buds on it.  A couple were starting to open when I got up and by 10am they looked like this.

I had a major burst of energy and moved around the furniture in the kitchen this morning.  Cleaned up the couch and chairs, vacuumed the rugs and got the fire started while I finished up.

At 1pm we started watching the Bill's game.  It was a nail biter, but they ended up winning.
Two times today it got very blustery and I ended up putting the horses in a little early.  The front paddock is a muddy mess in parts.

Leftover corn chowder for dinner.

Sidney seems to be much better and has finished his 10 days of meds and pro biotics.  Hopefully he will stay that way.
It's only 6:10 and I feel like it's after nine!

Night all.
