The Fence

A sunny and very windy morning.

Finn and Coop came up a little before 9:30 to help Grampa with the fence and gate in the back pasture.
Little Wonder and I drove the car back two or three times to help deliver some of the tools etc. that were needed.
And of course I had to grab some photos.  These two boys are learning how to do a lot of things from Gary.

This fence went up in 1981 and this section needed some serious help.  More to go after today.
Sidney loves sacking out on the heaters in the kitchen, especially after he has been outside.

He thinks the couch is pretty comfy too.
Out at 4:50 for chores and it was too dark to take any pictures outside.

I bought more shavings today and should be good through February now.

Back in the house and happy to have the fire going.
A picnic dinner.
Night all.

No Cooking Tonight

Felt like 13 degrees this morning (but the temperature went up to 33) so off came the sheets and on went heavier blankets.

Fortunately the water trough was not frozen.  I keep it covered at night and it really helps.

We decided to have dinner for lunch today and it was a replay of Thanksgiving.
That's why I'm not cooking tonight.
I listened to an interview with John Grisham this morning and since I have read at least 20 of his books (he has written 51 and they all have been best sellers)....
and was so motivated, I went down to the library and found this one.  I have been out of my reading groove for at least 2 years.  Maybe this will get me going.
Took a long nap this afternoon (lunch) and did chores at 5.

Little Wonder graced me with his presence both morning and night.
Gary moved leaves for over an hour and was ready to hang out by the fire....and I will be right out there getting warm after I post this.
Night all.

Thanksgiving

Someone you know was not up for chores.  He found out that it was much colder when he went out for his morning potty break and didn't like it.

As you can see, we got some snow last night.

It was so windy this morning I had to put the hay behind the grooming room.

We took it easy most of the day, tho Gary did manage to move more leaves and I did a couple loads of laundry.  Jenny and family had three places to be.  The traditional lunch was on deck....a turkey sandwich with cranberry orange relish, lettuce and mayo.  A side of Waldorf salad.  Yum.
The fire was started late morning and these two enjoyed the heat.
Chores at 5.  Very dreary and we have 10 days coming up in the low 30s.  Tomorrow we may get hit with more snow.  90% of it melted today.

I could not even think about more turkey (will do that tomorrow night) so I made open face meatball sandwiches with a cucumber salad.

Time to get back to the fire.  I hope all of you had a very warm, fuzzy Thanksgiving!
Night all.
