Frigid

The weather is on a downer....headed toward 7 degrees tonight, but not quite as cold as it is in Wisconsin and Minnesota where my blogging pals live.

After chores we shoveled the driveway again.  Pretty crispy out there.

By 10 I was in Brockport...hit Wegmans and Country Max for some horse cookies.
Started dinner (BBQUED pork) in a crockpot, took a shower and the weather was getting so crazy with high winds and snow I decided to put Buddy and Rebel in their stalls while I went to the library for bridge.  One bad hand after the other.

At least it was nice and cozy in there.
At 4:30 I turned the boys back out and reset their stalls.

I wonder how cold it will be in the morning.  Their buckets were topped with warm water.
The sky was amazing by 5:15.

And Little Wonder was looking very green again.
Pork sandwiches with chips and Gary's dill pickles for dinner.
I really need to get out by the fire.
Night all.

Reading....Finally

A cold, red start to the day.

The new blankets for Rebel and Buddy arrived yesterday and I took them out to make the switch this morning.

I could not be happier with the quality and the fit.  The Rambos they have been wearing are over 20 years old and fortunately are still very usable.  This is the first time I've picked a blanket that is not a solid color and think the Aztec pattern is pretty cool.

After lunch I put my butt to the fire and spent some time reading the John G. book I picked up last week.
Other than doing a little laundry, my afternoon was very quiet.
Chores a little before 5.  The horses and I appreciated the lack of wind, a high of 34 degrees and no more snow.

Once again my buddies went to the barn with me....happy to get back to the house.

Breakfast for dinner.
Night all.

Shoveling Again

Fortunately we only have gotten about three inches of snow (so far).  Near here, there are all kinds of storm advisories.

After chores we shoveled the driveway.  So much easier now that it is paved.

Little Wonder was out with me for 2 hours.

I made a huge batch of bean salad when I got back in the house and will.be set for a long time!

At 1pm Gary C. came up to play some music.  Nancy and John canceled, but the two of us had a very productive afternoon.  Worked on "Two of Us" and "I Will" by the Beatles then messed around with a couple more.  Gary sang the next two.  Fun songs.

Chores at 5.  The boys spent a lot of time in the snow and their blankets were wet (only on the outside).  Speaking of blankets.....they each got a new one today and I will show you what the look like tomorrow

Got them tucked in and went back to the house for dinner,

Naan bread pizzas.

That's a wrap.
Night all.
