3 Days at 3 Degrees Each Morning

I still don't have my act together and have been missing my nap time.  We had more snow last night and it continued much of the day....low volume considering....

Little Wonder goes for a stroll out in the pasture when we first go out for chores, then he comes in and hangs out in the stalls while I clean them.
Rebel and buddy are so lucky to have these huge suites.  I never feel bad when they are inside with all this room.  In the spring I will go back to letting them decide if they want to be in or out.  For now, I need to know that they are out of the wind and comfy.

I'm happy to report that the new heater is doing a good job in the water trough.

Bridge at the library this afternoon.  A couple of really good hands and more that were so weak.  It snowed the whole time we were there and with the wind, felt so cold when I left.  The sun was trying to make an appearance on my way back to the farm.
Did not make a real dinner tonight.  Eggs and bagels.
Chores at 5.

I can't get warm today.  Have to get out by the fire.
Night all.

Errands

This was an unusual day.  Last night Rebel was standing by himself near the indoor and did not seem quite right at chore time.  I made sure he had plenty of warm water and he ate his grain but he did not seem interested in hay.  4 hours later I went out with more warm water and he was just standing there and had still hardly touched it.  This morning I went out in the dark (very early) to make sure he was ok.  He had eaten, some of the hay and fortunately there was manure in his stall.  I went down to Tractor Supply and bought a new heater for the water trough and you might know that the temperature went up to 38 degrees.  Three errands later, I was back home to set it up.

It was just starting to get light when they went out to finish their breakfast (they left over half of it).

Once Gary got up, Sidney was let out and he ventured to the barn.  He likes clawing his way up the bags of shavings so he can grab some food.

We did get a couple inches of snow last night, and after shoveling the driveway, it stayed bare.

One of my stops today was Greg'rys Bakery in Bergen, where I picked up four cookies.  Loved their decorations inside and out.
When I hooked up the new water heater I looked for Rebel and he was acting normal.  I'm sure both horses loved the warmer weather.

Before chores, all I wanted to do was sit by the fire,  But....it was raining and I put the boys in early.  Sid and LW took my place.

Fortunately, Rebel seemed his old self and I hope he stays that way.  The barn temperature was 31 degrees.
I did make a good dinner.  Baked chicken, yams and a salad.

Time to get in some chair time by the fire.
Night all.

Frigid..Not Taking Photos

3 degrees again this morning.  By tonight the barn temperature went up to 21.

Gary went to yoga and out to lunch.  I set up the kitchen for our Tuesday music jam.
Today there were 5 of us and it was great!  For the third time Sidney responded to the music.  He gets on this end table, sits up straight and meows.
We got better and better with each song and made it through about 10.
When everyone left I put my butt to the fire and got warm before going out for chores.  LW joined me and got a little covered with the snow.
Once again the horse's buckets were topped off with warm water.  Tomorrow I am going to have to get a new heater for the water trough.  The current one is running out of gas.

Made a quick salad
and some lemon/chicken broth/romano cheese pasta.
Simple and so good.
Not much excitement around here!
Night all.
