Fine Dining With Sabine and Family

A nice cool day for the most part.  We even had a little rain and expect more tonight.

There has been less and less manure in the barn....the boys must be spending all night outside.  After breakfast, they chowed on some hay in the run-in before going out to the pasture.  Sabine helped me with chores.

Yesterday she really cleaned out the gate area to the outdoor arena.

She and Little Wonder have become best buds.

Gary went to yoga and out to lunch....I made another batch of sauce.  The San Marzano tomatoes are finally coming on strong.

Sabine spent some time outside reading and Little Wonder went over to the Studio for a visit.

It did not take long for them to become best buds.
While she went for an hour and a half walk...
LW was hanging out in the kitchen.
I did chores early....and of course that was when it was raining.

Tonight Sabine treated our family to dinner at Ironwood.
The restaurant was packed and we ate outside.  A perfect setting.

A burger, fish, chicken French, scallops, a wrap, salads and more.
It was dark by the time we left.

Home again....home again.  Thank you Sabine!
Night all.

Nap Time

We were all up early as David and Leslie were ready to leave a little after 7:30.

Little Wonder went to the car to say goodbye too.
Out for chores at 8.  It was nice and cool last night so the boys were busy out in the pasture.  The little bit of rain we had is helping in the grass department.

Sabine spent several hours cutting down weeds and anything else in the way between the front paddock and the outdoor arena.  I will have to take a photo tomorrow....it looks so much better.
Alice arrived at 10 for Spa Day.

While we were doing that, Sabine was behind the barn clearing out more vines and weeds.  Hopefully we will have a hay delivery up there in the next couple of weeks.
After lunch she and I did some running around.  First we went to the High School she attended to take a few photos.

From there we checked out the new boathouse on the canal and the pedestrian bridge that opened a few weeks ago.  The weather was so perfect today.

After that, we tried to get her a crystal where I got mine, but it was closed and we will have to go back.  Ended up at Bittersweet were she got some gifts to take home for her girls.  Actually, the last stop was Wegmans.  She went outside for the rest of the afternoon and I took it easy until it was time to make dinner.  I had some pork medallions (which I made thinner with my small iron frying pan) breaded them, browned them, and then put them in a pie plate with carrots and onions.  Drizzled on some soy sauce, spooned on some Duck Sauce (Chinese) and just a little bit of honey mustard.  Covered it with another pie plate and baked it.  Gary picked some potatoes this morning so they got mashed and our salad had apples, craisins, and walnuts topped with a homemade balsamic dressing and feta cheese.  So good!  I will definately make pork this way again.
Jenny and Scott picked up Sabine after we ate and they are going to a game night at their neighbors.  They do this regularly....you know.....board games.....stuff like that.
Chores at 8.  I am so tired tonight.

Night all.
