Be Prepared...This is a Dissertation

Still pretty cool outside.

As soon as I got out to the barn I iced Rebel.

Turned him out with Buddy...

and loaded his stall with 2 old bales of hay so he can have a soft landing when he sleeps down.

At 10:30 Gary and I picked up the key for the lodge in the park and met Hanny and Bobby there to set up the space for tonight.  Yay!  The Swooners were coming.

We did everything in about 30 minutes.

I took it easy this afternoon...So did Little Wonder.  Out for chores at 5:30 as we wanted to get down to the lodge before the band and pizza arrived.

Got the boys tucked in and took off for Brockport. 

How did this all get started?  5 of us (old ladies) are still in a kick ass mode and we love music and community...so we wanted to hire this band and throw a party.....just because. 

When we got there I turned on the fireplace and we were ready to roll.

The Swooners arrived at 6:30 to set up. People started showing up at 7 and we had ordered 6 sheet pizzas for them to indulge in.  They brought their own drinks.

The space is not gigantic and Mark made sure the sound was appropriate.  So ideal.

It was Rosies 90th birthday today.  She did not show up so we called her and she was ready for bed!  Bud M. drove out to get her and brought her back so we could celebrate.  She was surprised and so happy.

Hanny and Bobby brought her a cake.  The band played and everyone sang.  So sweet.  She even danced!!!

As you can see, the majority of guests were of retirement age except for Jenny and some friends.  The band played the kind of music they could dance to.  Such fun.  Very rare that we get to dance to live music.

This was one amazing evening....and I have about 18 more videos!
