Post #7231. What A Day - Berlin's Birthday!

36 years ago this girl was born.

Her sire was the Trakehner stallion, Borallis

Her Dam, on the left, was Marieke (Anglo Trakehner by Abdullah)
On the right is Marieke's brother, Hollander.
Berlin got her name when her grandsire became World Cup Champion in that city.
1985, when she was foaled.
He was also in the Olympics.

Painting by Brenda Cretney.

This is Berlin as of last week.
I could not ask for a sweeter girl.

Now, for the rest of the day.
It was not very pretty out there.

At 1:30 I grabbed my Uke and
went out to the Studio for a
rehearsal.
The space worked out so well I am now designating it as a music studio.
My little heater kept it nice and cozy, even tho it was raining outside.
Loved being together in person and we had a great session.
Here are some short clips.

Little Wonder was not remotely interested in going out in the rain this afternoon.

No cooking tonight.  We actually went out for dinner.
Night all.

Happy Birthday Berlin, you need a bouquet of flowers, and celebrate in style. So god to see your lineage, and how your name came to you. Lovely music, it is always so good to just sit down here and listen to you up North.

Happy Birthday Berlin! Wow she sure came from some fantastic bloodlines.

Thank you for her history.

I'm going to come and steal your studio. Sigh.
I'm making my Forest Garden into an outdoor sanctuary for myself. It won't work well on rainy/cold days but it is going to be a pleasant place.

Loved your music clips! Our groups are getting together but only playing outside which is possible in California. Some people are playing wearing fingerless mittens!
