A different kind of a sunrise this morning. Last night the temperature actually went up for awhile, then we had freezing rain and it ended up snowing. I woke up a 5am and a semi was driving about 10 miles per hour down the road in front of the farm...had to be glare ice. By the time I got up for good, it looked like this.
With the wind, we were in the single digits and I was not sure if I was going to leave the girls out or put them back in. I filled up 4 jugs with hot water, the beet pulp was ready, grabbed some dry cat food, some carrots....and headed out to the barn.
It did not feel quite as bad as I expected, so the girls stayed out and we had a little sun off and on during the rest of the day.
I will never understand why they do not want to go in the indoor when the weather is like this.
They have free access every single day.
By 10:15 the roads were in much better shape and I went down to Agape.
On Monday I did 20 minutes on the bike/15 minutes on the elliptical/10 minutes on the treadmill.
Today I did 25 minutes on the bike/ 11 minutes on the elliptical/10 minutes on the treadmill. Just not motivated to get back up to 20 on the elliptical....I think it's mental!
When I got back to the farm I made a pot of sauce with meatballs.
A perfect day for it.
At 3:30 Ben (our farrier) arrived to trim the horses feet.
Turned the girls back out at 4:30 and ended up putting them in their stalls while Karen's horses were done.
Needless to say, it was a good day for a fire.
Dinner was delish.

Looks like a March is coming in like a lion by you. We had rain and wind is all. Great minds think alike, I made meatballs and sauce too!
We just have masses of snow here : it 100% sucks! But hopefully it will be so much better by next week!

LOL, some of my equine have had shelters they could walk into during nasty weather. The would stand out in most all weather and only seek the shelter to roll in the dry dirt.
They prefer to be outside where they can see what is going on, I think.
I hope you are warming up. We had a 5" snow fall here and a drop in temps. Warming up again this weekend.
