As I am writing this, the temperature is 28 degrees! It rained most of last night so it was a mess out at the barn this morning. First we put the sheets on the girls, then hung 4 haynets in the indoor so they would not get soaked before we got their stalls cleaned.
As it started to sleet we said what the heck and put them back in their stalls....
Then the snow arrived and the temperature kept going down.
Class at 10:30. I put the heater on in the Studio at 7:30 hoping that it would be warm enough to meet out there. Dianne and Doug H. arrived at 11 to grab some photos for the article Doug is writing.
Steph and all the kids stopped in to say "hi" before going out to lunch.
My turn to cook tonight, so I spent the afternoon getting ready.
Lasagna.
Once the weather settled down I let the horses out, recleaned the stalls and set things up for the night.
The kids were playing a card game called spit. Ever hear of it. Very FAST!
Tucked the girls in around 6 and it was darn cold.
Jen brought a beautiful salad and a couple loaves of crusty bread.
Scott joined us too.
Daniela and Ariana are both readers....don't need to be entertained, that's for sure.
It's so nice to have all the grandchildren together.
We chowed, and had ice cream for dessert.
Now, I am going out by the fire to watch a movie....The Butler.

Cold here too. Rained all night and all day and might snow tonight. Crazy.
Everyone looks happy to be together at your place. Dinner looks delicious.
Snow? You have got to be kidding. I have played that card game before -- we called it Spit & Slobber when I was a kid.

We really were sucker-punched by Old Man Winter, weren't we?? I'm glad you found warmth among family and friends; it's perfect and helps you forget the cold, doesn't it?
