THE VILLAGE OF SPENCERPORT

Last night we went to dinner at "Grampa Sams" in Spencerport for some top notch Italian food.  Like Brockport, it sits next to the Erie Canal.  Many of these canal towns have examples of beautiful architecture.  Here are a few shots taken from the restaurant.

I'm curious...are all the "small" towns in your area referred to as villages? Here a village is out in the bush accessible by plane or boat and usually has a small population of 150-500. Some refer to people as "being from the village" meaning they are poor or uneducated or unsophisticated. It is not a compliment. When you refer to "village" it seems classy with history.
