A Ride For Little Wonder

I might as well say the same thing on every post.  Another dreary day....blah blah blah.  At least it was above freezing.

Crazy.  I am still riding my trike and it's January.
After chores Little Wonder and I took a ride down to the bank.  He sure can't wait to get in the car.

Ate lunch and then we all took it easy.  Gary got in a couple of good naps today....I think his body just wants him to rest.

Can you see that pot hanging above the fire in the wood stove?  Every day we have to put more water in it as it is our new humidifier!  Thank you Hanny for the suggestion.  I have it hanging down with a dog leash, which is attached to a hook in the mantel.  Too bad it took us so long to figure this out.  The wood stove in our living room is free standing, so we would always keep a pot of water on the top.  Now, we just keep the stove in the kitchen going during much of the day.
It was a little spritzy when I went out for evening chores.  Finn was up earlier for water/wheelbarrow duty.

I had great intentions regarding dinner....chicken in gravy with mashed potatoes.  Nope, that didn't happen.  Instead I ordered a thin crust cheese pizza from Weggie's.

Still cooling it.
Night all.

Under a Minute

What the heck!  We only had about 45 seconds of sunshine.  So discouraging.  The temperature was around 28 this morning and the wind was pretty strong so the first thing I did was take off the boy's sheets and put on heavier blankets.

While I was doing that, Gary drove himself to the office of the urologist in Rochester and he was home by 10:15!  I could not believe it.  They removed his catheter and he sure was more comfortable.  Drank a lot of liquids and made sure his plumbing was working.  It was.
Finn and his Pal Joe came up this afternoon for barn duty.  We are so lucky to have help.  Gary can't lift more than 20 pounds for at least 2 weeks so he will be taking it easy.

The fire had us all in nap mode late afternoon.

Tucked the boys in and we are going to have a simple supper.  I defrosted some of that lasagna Alfredo soup.
Night all.

Jenny to the Rescue

There was about one inch of snow this morning and the temperature was in the high 20s all day.

After chores I put on a mask and went down to Wegmans for some groceries.  In the mood to roast a chicken.
Other than that, making dinner and doing chores....things were pretty quiet around here.  I did spend some time working on an event coming up in February.  Our band and two others are inviting some friends over for a "mini Woodstock" jam at the Lodge.
Jenny came up just before evening chores and did the water and wheelbarrow.  What a trooper!

She even picked the boy's feet for me.

Dinner was a mish mash.  Roasted chicken, leftover baked beans and a green salad.
It tasted pretty good!
Over and out.  We just might get some sun tomorrow.
Night all.
