ANOTHER BUSY ONE....

Up and at um...Finished chores in time to welcome John, our farrier, who had three horses to finish up.  PC, Target and Abbe practically fell asleep while their feet were being trimmed.

Sweet Duncan waited in the truck.

Last week he turned one year old.

After John left, I made a salad...took a shower and we were off to Kendall to attend a pot luck lunch at the home of our chorus director.  An absolutely beautiful cobblestone...
They have a new puppy....Coda....another happy yellow lab.
The second day in a row for having a big feast.  Tomorrow we have to cool it.
Mary Ellen and Jay have many gardens...all gorgeous.



Got home a little after 2 and took Phoebe and Gucci down to the Brockport Animal Hospital for heartworm tests and Phoebe's annual physical.

They are both so well behaved when they are there.  Quiet and cooperative.
Dr. Edwards, my favorite small animal vet ever, has a green thumb....out near where I parked my car were these beautiful...huge yellow iris.
When I got back home, a harness I recently purchase through EBay arrived.  After opening the box, I was very pleased with the quality of the leather...but was sad to see that the traces did not have the slots that connect to the whipple tree...instead, it was something I had never seen before....SO I packed it in the car, along with my other harness and the two dogs and we drove out to Glen Darach Farm where Andrea could help me figure it all out.  I will probably have to make a few alterations to get it to work.
By now it was after 7 and we drove down Canal Road on the way home.  The water was so peaceful looking.

Getting close to dark, so the paddock light came on.

Put the horses in for the night around 11 and now I am ready to crash.  More tomorrow....

IT'S COUCH TIME!!!!!

This is going to be short and sweet.   I am so tired, and I did not take many pictures today.
You know the drill.  Chores as usual...the horses are all munching on new little clover blossoms.

Did a few things when I got in the house and prepared for my class.
Sandy finished her pencil drawing of the horse.
Buster is looking very good as he emerges.
Jean came back and is determined to finish her lizard.
and Sue finished the drawing of her horse.

Company for dinner tonight, so I spent a couple of hours cleaning the house.  At 3 an Insurance 

Claims Rep came to speak to us about Gary's accident and by 5 I was back out in the barn doing evening chores.

At 6:30 our guests arrived...the "last supper" for the outgoing board of directors at the Senior Center.  Great food (ate too much) and good conversation.


I'm too tired to tell you all the great things we ate.  I'll be back tomorrow.

RIGHT NOW I AM FREEZIN!

In the 40s again!  Beautiful sky tho.....
I went out a little later this morning, but still finished the chores in good time.  Afterwards I mulched all the hay in the paddocks and under the shed roof.  It serves as a great cushion.

When I got in the house I started working on an invitation for my friend Andrea.   It is the 2nd Annual Garden Party at Glen Darach Farm and is mainly attended by carriage drivers who show up in driving apparel.  They have the opportunity to buy hats and other accessories they need for showing...and many of them bring things to sell.  There is a huge luncheon (pot luck) and people bring their own table settings...Because of the weather, last year it was held in the indoor arena...this year it may really be held in the gardens.
Gucci and Phoebe rode with me as I did several errands.  I ended up at Country Max and bought 15 bags of pellets (for bedding) that had to be put in the back seat of my PT Cruiser....both dogs had to sit in the front seat.  We also delivered invitation samples to Glen Darach Farm and picked up a few things at Wegmans.
Got home in time to do evening chores a little early, as we had to go into Rochester for a Chorus rehearsal.
Set everything up and gave Jenny a call so she could put the horses in if the weather changed

while we were gone.  I thought it would rain starting this afternoon.
The yellow Rose-a-thon is in full swing.  Tons of buds.
Gucci is ready to go through the kitchen door so she can run out the back door and chase chipmunks.

At 5:30 we left for Rochester.  This is the Hochstein School...MUSIC.
The building has been totally renovated and houses one of the most beautiful auditoriums I have ever seen.
What a place to rehearse!
Stained glass on every wall, with dramatic stairways and a perfect stage.
When we finished, we drove over to Hogans Hideaway for dinner.
Great atmosphere and an outstanding menu.

The decorations are very eclectic.

How's that for a sign?

Now we are back home...Gary is asleep in his chair and the dogs and I are going to go out and put the horses in for the night.
