Ahh! A Years Worth of Hay

This morning it was very grey and half an hour before we were supposed to do hay it started to rain.

Jenny and Scott showed up anyway and dropped off a birthday card and two amazing croissants from our friend Karla's bakery at the Public Market.  I was also given a gift card which we can't wait to use at Provisions (located in the same building as the bakery).

Before they left, Scott went out to visit the horses and took along some apples.

We took it easy for part of the afternoon and a little before 3:30 I moved the horses and opened up the gate so that Dave could drive his truck to the back of the barn.  I had already opened up the sliding door to the loft and the view was beautiful.  So glad the sun came out.

Dave (our hay guy) always helps.  He is 75 years old and can handle 2 bales at a time.  Finn has no trouble doing that either.

Within one hour the first batch was stacked, they went back to Dave's farm and got the second batch, and in no time we were done.  Many hands.....blah blah blah.
Thanks you Jenny, Scott, Finn, Dave and Gary.

The boys were happy to get out of the pasture they were locked in.
Buddy wanted to hang with Finn.

I made a cheese and cauliflower casserole for dinner....topped with hard boiled eggs.
The salad...a nectarine, a banana, craisins, walnuts and feta cheese.

Our friend Mary Jo stopped over for more tomatoes and gifted us with a bottle of wine they picked up on their wine tour yesterday.  Is was the 2025 winner of something or other and Gary tried it out with dinner.  Said it was great.

Chores a little before 7.

Now they are tucked in and I'm done for the day.
Night all.

Spelling error !! A barn full of hay is like a shed full of firewood, both such a satisfying feeling. Many helpers make it so much easier.
