Wicked!

This morning the temperature was 22 degrees and with the wind chill.....1 degree!  Many schools within half an hour from here were closed due to Lake Effect snow....in some places, to be measured in feet.

We only had a little over an inch.
The boys definately needed their heavy blankets if they were going to be outside all day.

I put hay under the shed roof.....but they still preferred

going out in the pasture to dig for some grass....their butts to the wind.

Seymour found his usual spot while Sidney was out in the barn until dinner time.  He did come in for breakfast tho.

I made a pot of chicken soup, then went to the library for bridge.
The sky was spectacular at 4:15 when I left.

Got home, made some warm bran mash and went out to put the boys in for the night.

Finally, Sidney followed Little Wonder an me to the house.

Dinner was yummy.  Greens topped with the bean salad I made....
and chicken soup.  Just right.
My friend, Mary Pat is coming tonight and will spend a couple of days with us.  She is here to visit her sister and family members.  Always love spending time together.
Night all.

Have fun with the visit! We are still below zero but will warm up for it to snow this weekend I guess.
My equine can always get out of the wind and dislike going inside, yesterday when the sun arrived for an hour, they slept on their hay piles! How funny.

Enjoy your visiting!

Horses seem less concerned over the weather than we do. Enjoy you visit with your friend. The soup looks good!
