The Transition Has Begun

The water trough was frozen this morning.  That's all you need to know.  However, at 6:45am the sunrise was beautiful.

I put some hay in the front paddock for the boys.  They took two nibbles and left for the pasture.

Little Wonder did not have to worry about getting muddy feet.

I moved the water trough over to its winter place.  We had an electrician set us up with an on and off switch for the heater so I don't have to mess around.

I spent part of the afternoon by the fire and got hooked on another series.  A comedy, very different.  It's called AP-Bio and is about a Harvard Prof who does not get tenure and ends up teaching at a High School.
I went out a few minutes early tonight as I had to take the sheets off Buddy and Rebel and put on heavier blankets.  It's going to be in the 20s and windy tomorrow.  In Buffalo and toward the Pennsylvania line there is snow being measured in feet...not inches.  Lake effect from Lake Erie.  Part of the thruway is closed and many cars are stuck on it....not moving.  As of tonight, we had no snow.

The Buffalo Bills have a game tomorrow evening and it sounds like there will be 2 feet of snow by the time it starts....and COLD!  It takes a lot of people to get the snow cleared off the seats etc.  They started advertising a few days ago to get help.  They will be working around the clock.
Night all.

Turkey This and Turkey That

Our gorgeous fall weather is over.  Cold and sunny today with strong enough winds to feel like the 30s and going down to the 20s tonight.  I think my friend Sandra has sent it to us from Minnesota.

The sunrise was spectacular.

Little Wonder and I did our usual thing before going out to the barn.

Today it was Rebel's turn to wander into Buddy's stall before going out.

(the Buddy suite)

After chores I stripped the bed and did some laundry.  I found Seymour and LW lounging there.

At noon Jenny, Scott and the boys came up for a photo shoot.  This years Christmas card.

Ironically, the horses kept getting in the way of the picture taking.

Lunch was... you guessed it.
Watched a movie this afternoon and then the Kansas City game.  Chores during half time.

Dinner was a repeat of last night minus potatoes.  Now there is just enough turkey left for a couple of sandwiches.  The rest is gone except for what we sent home with Jenny, and they will have that tomorrow. It's time to get out by the fire.
Night all.
