YOUNG AT HEART...WOW!

This documentary was everything I expected and much more.  I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE as a must see.  We are all going to be old someday, and you have to admire the choices these people have made.  They are brave, bold, sweet, funny, entertaining, humble, and  great role models for all of us.  Even tho you may cry through half of the movie, it is so worth it.  Here in Brockport, our Senior Center is going through a period of turmoil and change that leaves many of our seniors insecure and somewhat lost.  As a culture, we need to become advocates for this age group.  We need to respect them more and TAKE CARE OF THEM!!!! The local powers that be should take a good look at this film...maybe it will make them realize that they too, will be in that position someday.  One of the songs they sang in the film had the work "can" in it 71 times and it was difficult to learn...can, can, yes we can....There is a strong message there, and I hope everyone CAN hear it.

By the way, the director of this group grew up in Rochester and went to Brighton High School.  He is now 53 and works in Northampton, Mass. with the arts.  He was there last night and answered many questions from the audience (which continually applauded throughout the movie).
