#2001 PART I - I'M BACK!!!! AND MAKING UP FOR ALL THE PHOTOS I HAVE NOT BEEN TAKING.

WARNING!!!!! Be prepared for a "marathon" post. You can tell that I feel better by all the time I spent taking photos today.

The rain stopped and the temperature improved. When I let the dogs it this morning it was "steamy" looking in every direction.

After chores I went in and checked my email... these photos were waiting for me. They were taken by Dawn Calleri, the owner/trainer at Renaissance Equestrian Center. She is only 5 minutes from here and wondered if it looked like this at our place. The next four shots are hers.

Aren't they all dream like?

Within an hour the sky cleared and it looked like this.

All the ponies were happy to be "naked" again.

All the rain is making the grass grow.

If you have the stamina, keep going and see what happened as the day went on....

#2000 PART II ABBE AT GLEN DARACH

This was day 6. She was hooked everyday and yesterday (in the pouring rain) was her first time out on the track. Andrea was in the cart and Alex had a lounge line attached to the bridle.

Just because I was there, today she was very "up."

She's in heat...there was a horse in the outside ring...Alex drove by two times taking out manure with a lawn tractor...reacting to everything.

Andrea hooked her by herself, then line drove her outside of the cart. The two videos show the rest.

First she was driven inside. See the next part for the outside experience.

#1999 PART III ABBE ON THE TRACK

#1998 PART IV LATER.....

This afternoon the ski was beautiful.

Darrin and Winnie had a lesson at 2:15, and when they got back, Berlin was all hyped up...performing.

Trina was doing chores tonight and Gary and I had a picnic for all the volunteers who worked at the Welcome Center. The weather was still holding out.

Gary went down early and I arrived around 5. Did not want to expose myself to everyone, although I'm doing much better today.

There were tons of ducks in the Canal.

A family was out for an afternoon cruise.

These handsome birds love to look for food and are really quite tame.

On the way home I stopped at Wegmans to buy more kleenex and I had a real craving for some lemon sourbet. Isn't it weird how that happens?

They don't want you to take photos in the store, but I couldn't help myself when I saw these flowers.

It's almost couch time. Night all.

#1997-TALK ABOUT UNDER THE WEATHER!

Another orange sky this morning. I still felt lousy and took our a mug of hot water and lemon.

The light was very dramatic on the back porch....

It started raining in the middle of the afternoon, so I went out early and put the horses in.

The outdoor ring is still flooded as the water coming off the shed roof goes right out there.

I spent the day on the couch, filling up a plastic bag with kleenex. My head feels like it is going to explode. So, no pictures again.

Gary is down at First Friday and somehow I managed to make a cassarole for dinner. This was a non day day. Can't wait to feel better.

I got a call from Andrea around 4. She said she was soaking wet, as she just drove Abbe around the track in the rain! This is good news...Come hell or high water I am going to take my lesson tomorrow.

Back to the couch. Night all.

SKTWATCH FRIDAY

This morning at Skoog Farm.

#1995 - I COULDN'T FIGHT IT!

Grey and cool this morning. It stopped raining before I went out to the barn. Last night my body gave in to a full blown cold (thank you Gary for passing it on)...you know the drill, tired, coughing...plugged up head. I was a little slow moving and it took me longer than usual as I put some plexiglass back in a couple of windows.

Got in the house about 10 and all I wanted was a nice cozy fire.

After lunch I went down to the bank and hit Wegmans for some cough drops and a few other items. By three I was back in front of the fire.

When I went out for evening chores it felt a little warmer than it was this morning.

I managed to pick the pasture...they have turned over the fields around us and all the wildflowers are gone.

I've started putting the horses in after evening chores...it's just to mucky and damp to leave them out.

Since I'm out of gas, there are not too many photos...

In the house by 6:15 and had some steamy tomato soup.

Are your leaves turning?

I sure hope I'm feeling better by Saturday so I can have my driving lesson with Abbe. She is doing so well. Below is a picture of her when she was first hooked.

I'll come up with a better post for tomorrow. Night all.
