Getting Cold

Took me awhile to get going this morning.  It's going to be too hard to keep the Studio warm so we moved all my music and art stuff back in the house.  Now we will do everything in the kitchen by the fire (which we started early today).

The clouds were beautiful and it was windy.

I started cleaning out a cupboard that holds all our hats, winter scarves and gloves then attacked the back hall where we keep all of our jackets, boots etc.  So much more room there without the freezer.  No more mercy! I threw out so much stuff.

A little after ten I decided to go for a trike ride and needed to wear a hat, gloves and a hood.

This afternoon I wasted an hour and a half talking to Roku so my tv would work and ended up having to buy a new one.  Can't stand all the hoops you have to go through to install it.  I'm too old for this crap.

Little Wonder did not care.  He was loving life by the fire.

There was a football game at the college today and a couple of friends were in attendance.  They stopped on their way back home and we talked for almost 3 hours!  The good old days.

While they were here I finished making some chicken soup.  I had boiled the remains of the chicken that was roasted yesterday and made a great broth.  Even added a little bouillon (bad).  It tasted so good.  Figured out that if I ate everything and left most of the broth I would not get so much sodium and would still have the flavor.

We also had a salad.

Still have flowers and a new bouquet on the kitchen table.

Pretty good for November!

Recovering

Much cooler today....I needed to wear a jacket.  Gary went to Brockport for a haircut at 9 and I got mine chopped at 11:30

Getting the gardens in shape for Ariana's wedding is going to take some doing.  He has been plugging away at it.

When I let Little Wonder out through the kitchen garden door he always goes for a stroll to the back 40.

Ran an errand after my haircut and this afternoon, made sweet and sour red cabbage....

                                                                  and roasted a chicken. 

                                        

Fortunately we had some applesauce in the freezer.

I ended up making Gary some mashed potatoes the regular way and had a tablespoon.  Leaching them is such a pain in the butt.  It was almost like having an ordinary dinner.

This afternoon I sat on the hearth near the fire and had a nice long chat with my blogging pal who lives in Minnesota.  Political of course.  Jenny and Scott will be there for the Bill's game on Monday night.  Should be a great time.

 

Time to get back to the fire.

Low on Photos

I sure have been on vacation today in the picture taking department.  I must be numb from the election.  So this is what I've got.  Gary went down to Dan's to have coffee with his buddies while Little Wonder and I got off to another slow start.

I did make some Apple Betty late morning.

Looking forward to having some later tonight.

At one I was at the library to play bridge.  My partner was Terry and we were sure we were going to come in last. Surprise!  We came in second.

I stopped at Wegmans and Country Max on the way home.  Little Wonder needed some more treats.  I like them because they are small and have only three calories.  A bag this size lasts me for months.

Chicken and Garden veggies... he thinks they are special.

I made chicken salad for dinner....sandwiches.  The chicken was leftover from my Greek dinner (at the Diner) last night.

Now for the fun part.

Last week our friends Jana and Mike were visiting from Ohio.  She is an artist and we spent some time in the Studio messing around with watercolors.  I told her about my sampler lesson that was done with my class and she gave it a shot.

She finished them when she got home and posted them today.

So cool! This lesson is a keeper!

It's going to take awhile for my brain to settle down from all the tension caused over the past couple of years.

Beyond My Expectations!

And then it arrived.  I am grateful that so many Americans stood up for decency.  Let's hope there are no surprises coming up.  The opposition imploded when it was decided that their governing style was not well received by us or the rest of the planet.  My first message of the day came from England.  "Woke up to good news this morning. So long Donny." I've been amazed by the negative, outrageous, disgusting, desperate comments coming from the administration and the closest supporters.  Time for some integrity, compassion, truth and caring about the quality of life ALL of us deserve.  Time for humanity to return.  I am fine with the members of congress being voted out as they let down their constituents and did not show up.  They continually kissed Trump's butt, even if they disagreed.  They were complicit and here we are.

We had a beautiful sunrise.

Across the street they worked through part of the night picking up soy beans.

By 7:15 I was out in the Studio taking down the extra table I had added when I had a large class.  Now we can all fit at the big one and I will try to pick up a couple more students.  Also turned on the heater.

Christa brought in her watercolor sampler and it's gorgeous!

As per usual, Little Wonder kept us company.

Anita is getting ready to do a painting of her son's house.

Cat has discovered that she likes adding colored pencil to her water color sampler.

By the time we were finished it was really warm outside and LW was panting.

At 12:15 we headed out to Glen Darach Farm and he got in some time with Andrea.

Taa Daaaa.  It was a perfect day to visit Buddy.

He got a grooming...carrots, apples and cookies (which he shared with LW).

He's looking good.

Left around 12:45 and headed home.

On my way I saw our friend Tina out in her yard with Loki so I stopped to say Hi.

The day I brought Little Wonder home, we stopped here first.  10 years ago.

 I was up half of the night and was so tired this morning....still am.  Did not make dinner.  We went down to the Diner .
