This is the Sweden Senior Center. It is one of 139 senior centers out of 15,000 in the United States to be Nationally Accredited. In 2005 it celebrated it's 25th Anniversary. Currently things are topsy turvy as the Town Board is interested in making sweeping changes, with no input from the Seniors.
It must be acknowledged that all of us are going to become "seniors" someday. These people should be treated with dignity and respect. They have feelings, needs and concerns about what is about to happen to the quality of their lives. The Sweden Senior Association and the Town Board should be able to work together to reduce the fears that have surfaced with the changes. Let's hope it happens.
