Very crispy this morning, and I could not get warm.
In fact, I now have Gary's cold.
After chores I mowed the lawn (dandy lions) and it will look good for about one day.
Can you see how windy it was?
That shiny black coat looks like it is getting longer.
This afternoon we went to Alvin A's 90th birthday party, which was held at one of his daughter's country homes. It should be in "Architectural Digest."
It's an old cobblestone and they have put on a huge addition in the back.
Alvin and his son-in-law love to restore old vehicles and there must have been at least 10
on the property. Classics!
This is part of the addition.
Every single room was loaded with absolutely gorgeous antiques.
The room below is part of the addition and faces west, collecting
that warm afternoon sunshine.
The east wall is the cobblestones on the original part of the house.
Can you imagine doing this?

The barn is huge.
The food was set up there....
along with a table that must have seated at least 20.
They also had a tent and other spaces in the barn where you could sit.
After a delicious meal, we sang "Happy Birthday" and enjoyed cupcakes made by Christine.
She, Denise and Erin (her home) sure know how to throw a party!

Let me introduce Alvin!
The most active and talented (continually working on projects) 90 year old I have ever met!
He also happens to be adorable!
His three daughters take good care of him and he takes very good care of them.
After having a chance to catch up with many of our "neighbors" we got home around 5.
When the Preakness was over (and once again all the horses survived the race)
I went out to do chores and am ready to go to bed.
It's almost 9 o'clock now and I am not making dinner.
Night all.

I would love to do a cobblestone sort of thing for my own sidewalk or stepping stones. What an incredible place.
Beautiful home and classic cars! Love the decorating. The barn is nice too. Hey, Abbe looks really clean. That must mean there are no mud puddles to roll in. Ha!
What a beautiful home Alvin's daughter has. And he looks a young 90 year - old! The wind sure whips up Little Wonder's coat. Your blog is always interesting, Lori.
Dear Lori, it's always good each week to come to your posting and see the animals. Thank you for sharing them with us.
What a wonderful gathering in a lovely, lovely home and sturdy barn. I've never seen cobblestone walls or roofs. I truly can't imagine the time that goes into construction such a home. Peace.
