You've Got A Friend

What a day!
It started off with some spectacular weather.
After chores I took an inventory of my hay as I always worry if I am going to have enough to last until more is made.  Might make it until first cutting is ready.

Big plans for this afternoon, so I took a shower and quickly checked on the progress at The Center before meeting with Jen and 3 others who were all invited to a special event in Rochester.
By now, the painting must be finished.  It looks SO different.

At noon I arrived, and met up with Mary (the other newly elected Town Board member),
Annie (who ran with us, did not get elected and was appointed to a Village Trustee position) and Margay (the current Mayor of the Village of Brockport).
We were all invited to attend an event for women who were elected officials, sponsored by Hillary Clinton and hosted by Congresswoman Louise Slaughter and Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul with special guest Carole King.
One more day in Rochester.  I seem to live there now....we passed the Monroe County Civic Center, where I spend my time on Grand Jury duty.
We ended up in Corn Hill at Tony D's...right on the river.  Perfect!

We now have a very strong presence in the Town of Sweden and Village of Brockport,
and Louise really tooted our horn!
I had the pleasure of meeting Jamie Romeo's mom, Kimie, who looks way too young to be her mother.
We started off with a delicious antipasto...
and had an amazing array of food after that.
Whoever picked out the menu, knew what they were doing.

Many years ago, Kathy Hochul was at a fundraiser we had at the farm and she remembered us.

Everyone was very happy to meet Carole King.  She, Louise and Kathy did not need any notes to talk about Hillary.  They know her inside and out.

It was a very informative, warm event.
At one point we all sang "You've Got A Friend"
and went on to a couple bars of "I Feel The Earth Move."
She sure is comfortable around people and very generous with her time and dedication.

We were on the road by 2:30, all very happy with our experience there.

 Chores at 7 tonight.

Somehow I managed to get the Studio organized so class can be held there tomorrow.
We should be in the low 70s.

I have not been getting great sunrise photos lately, but the sunsets have been beautiful.

Night all.

What a wonderful gathering of ladies. Friendship, so much beyond our estimation of value, if close by, far away, or just at the end of the phone or Skype or FaceTime.
