Better Than Expected

The "pond" in the back pasture has pretty much disappeared.

 Class at 10:30.

Today I drove over to Shamra's (after lunch) to pick up 5 dozen perfect eggs and had an opportunity to meet her chickens.  What a beautiful set up.  The walls were constructed with straw for insulation and the sides, covered with cement.  I love their front porch and the yard is well protected and of decent size.
 24 beautiful chickens...
that produce about a dozen eggs each day.
 I've never seen such a big rooster....ever.

Gary spent part of the day stripping wallpaper at Jen's, I made vegetarian chili and cornbread for dinner.

It was still nice and bright when I went out to do chores, but it felt very chilly.
Got the girls tucked in by 6:45.

A beautiful sunset.
Night all.

  1. I'd love to see more of the chicken setup!! I want chickens so badly. The veggie chili looks so good. Love the sunrise shots as always

  2. Beautiful pictures. Love the talented art work too.

  3. So much cheer in today's post! And those are fine, fine chickens with a fine, fine house. xx

  4. Beautiful chickens and I love that you have them in your header. Great art work too.

  5. Beautiful sunset shots! You should get a few hens. They are a hoot and you'd have fresh eggs to boot!

  6. so nice visiting here again - i enjoyed the horses but also love these chicken photos.
