SUNDAY STILLS CHALLENGE - TV SHOW

I end up watching this show (favorite) on my computer, as I fall asleep when it is on at 10pm.
To see what other people are watching, click on "Sunday Stills" in my sidebar.  Yes Ed, this is a weird one.

WWHHHHOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

It is 11:51....I just checked in and have 100,016 hits!  In my dreams, did I ever expect anything like this!  Thank you all for keeping track of the happenings at Skoog Farm.

WHAT WILL TODAY BRING?

So much for the sunshine.  The cold morning turned mild quickly, but it was nothin' but grey.

And here is a very grey photo of Berlin and PC.  We opened up the back door to the run-in to shovel the snow out, and the horses thought it was a good opportunity to get in a pasture.  25 feet from the door the drifts ranged from 2-3 feet.

At one point, Abbe (in heat) was on one side of the fence and her boyfriend Mustafa, was on the other.

It took awhile for them to figure out how to get back to the paddock and their hay.

Barb and I had chores done in short order.  She is so efficient.
Gucci loves her and got a nice good bye.
Once again, only Seymour was interested in venturing out.  He and Gucci played in the snow.
Phoebe and the other cats were inside.
We finally finished shoveling today.  I needed a place for the tools of my trade.

Had lunch and left for drumming (after we watched Lidia on PBS).
There was no messing around today.  We got right to it and did not stop until 4:30.  Khalid is really pushing us more now.  The people who have been coming for years know most of it....just the newbies have a lot to learn.

Here is an example of one of the things we worked on.

I had to stop at Wegmans on the way home....got here around 5.
Went straight into dinner making mode.  Tried something new.
I sliced two boneless pork chops in half....put them in a plastic bag (a couple pieces at a time) and beat the heck out of them with an iron skillet.   Once they were nice and flat, I dipped them in flour, then eggs, then bread crumbs.  Browned them on both sides.

In the meantime I had a couple more burners going.  Made lomain....
When the pork was browned, it was brushed with a sauce of honey mustard and orange juice...topped with another pie plate and put in the oven at 350 for about 15-20 minutes
Stir fried onions, carrots, red cabbage and snow peas....added low sodium soy sauce.
Put in all into one shallow bowl...
Made a little fruit salad...orange, banana and apple (I love fruit with Chinese food).
 and voila...a yummy dinner.
All my buddies were taking it easy....again.

I wish Bermuda would consider staying in the house.

Gary's doing the dishes and I am going to try and stay awake for "Harry's Law" at 8pm.  I fell asleep when it was on last Monday.

I'm outa here for now.
Night all.

FARM FRIEND FRIDAY #4/WELCOME TO MY WORLD!

What a morning.  High winds from the Northeast, horizontal snow....and a lot more on the way.
WINTER STORM ADVISORY! (Again).

I put the ponies out for 20 minutes while I cleaned their stalls and they were ready to go back in.

I'll put them out again before evening chores so they can stretch their legs.  It's supposed to let up this afternoon.  Here's hoping we don't get 10 more inches.

The fire is going and I'm not leaving the area....more later.

It's now after 2pm and the snow has been piling up for hours.  After this, I need to go out and check on the horses.

L'orange Marmalade has spent the afternoon lounging.

Seymour joined him....

Sidney and Phoebe teamed up....
and Gucci was happy to stay in the house for once!

to be continued after the next round....

I went out around 3pm and had to shovel may way to the barn.  The snow was 12-16 inches deep and even worse where it drifted.  The wind was so strong it blew open the back door (it's a good thing there was a chain on it or it would have been even worse) in the horse barn and there was snow all over the place...right where we store the sawdust.  Outside of Mustafa's stall (he has a space about 16 x 32 to wander in) there was more snow.  A plexiglass window got blown out.  First I let the horses out and gave them some hay...then I started shoveling out the mess.

PC's stall window looked like this.

The temperature was around 30 and the sun actually came out.
The wind even died down.
I finally finished cleaning the stalls and set them up for tonight....just grain was left.
Then I started shoveling the snow out from under the shed roof.
It was so deep I quit.
Finally, I shoveled my way back to the house.

Not in a dinner making mood, so we went down to Barber's for a Balboa.

Just what the Doctor ordered....so good.
We ran into all kinds of people we knew...the place was packed.
Actually, the village was jumpin'.

Home by 8:45.  Out of gas.
Night all.
