“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” — Elliott Erwitt

These are the only birds I could find this morning.
They are some of the "Pigeons in Residence" here at Skoog Farm.
No sun today....yesterday we had snow....prior to that
we had 3 weeks of "spring weather" with temperatures reaching the high 70s.
So the grey.

  1. Winter then Spring then Winter. It can't seem to make up it's mind! Glad you shared anyway!

  2. I'm not sure what "Nude Celebrity" comments are but I will leave a comment in spite of the verification.Loved your birds, you have more than I. They really are quite messy glad we only have one.

  3. I had no idea you had gotten another dose of winter--I'm glad it didn't stay long!

    I love the silhouettes!

  4. Our goldfinches are turning gold! It's the least they can do after eating us out of house and home all winter.

  5. I have recently been connecting with old friends on Facebook from back in 1975.

Your photo reminded me of a story we rehashed. We were staying in an apt like this. An idiotic gun crazy friend bought an air rifle and started shooting at the pigeons on the roof. The pigeons die on the roof and leave a terrible stink.

We threatened to report him to the police if he didn't stop.

Today, or right now, I hear the shooting in Oakland. I think of my idiotic friend.

Thank you for reading The Skoog Farm Journal. Your comments are appreciated!
