And Now Rain....

I was so off duty today.

There was a lot of melting going on last night,
and this morning we had light rain, in the mid 30s.
My buddies were resting as usual.

Normally, Sidney would never have the nerve to be this close to Seymour.  I don't get it.
Last night we started walking the Netflix series, "Zero Day" and today Gary was gone from 9-4:30 so I built a fire and binged all afternoon.  Much of it is like what is going on today and it stars Robert DiNero.  Check it out.
Chores at 5:30.  Fortunately it had stopped raining.

Tucked in the boys.

Whenever I can't find Gary, he is in this chair reading.
Dinner....baked chicken/onions/carrots marinated in a soy/Italian dressing/Duck sauce marinade.  Wontons and my usual....bananas.

Night all.

Whoa! 50 Degrees

A lot of melting today!

I ended. up putting old hay and some dirt on the path to the gate so there would be some texture if it freezes tonight.

Little Wonder did not need to wear a coat morning or evening.

This afternoon I had an appointment for my annual eye exam.  It took two hours, and I picked out new distance and reading glasses.  Had to wear this on the way home as my eyes had been dilated.  I was just waiting to be told I needed cataract surgery....but no!  Maybe next year.

Earlier I had made a phone list for at least 1 R congressperson from each state.  (A couple states had only Dems).  I started calling them this morning and actually talked to people instead of leaving messages.  If you decide to call them, ask them to read back the notes taken for the message.  They did not write what I said and made generic comments instead.  I reread them my message and told them exactly what to say and by that time I was not too happy.  Give it a shot.  This is not the time to be shy about it.

My message was like this:

First, get rid of Musk.  He is not your friend.
Second, since you are not standing up for America I assume you are willing to live under a dictatorship.
You can speak up, putting your country ahead of being primaried, or you can keep your mouth shut, having given up all integrity.  Either way, you are going to lose as you have thrown your constituents under the bus.  Your families too.

Got back to the farm at 4 and I had not started on dinner.  Ended up having to have picnic food that I could make quickly.
Chores at 5:45.  Still nice and light.

Night all.

A Little Uke Time

I was very happy to have the temperature above freezing.

It made it a lot easier to get the water trough filled up.  So glad I cleaned it out last night and there was no ice to mess with.

A friend of mine expressed an interest in learning how to play the baritone uke.  She used to play the tenor guitar and has done nothing for 45 years.  It takes awhile to get your fingers working again and we had a good time getting started.  Sent her home with one of my ukes so she can practice.
After she left I did nothing until chore time....by the fire again.  It was dull, but still very light when I went out to tuck the boys in.

Seymour went out with us again.

Earlier I attempted to make some gingerbread cupcakes.

We were due for a vegetarian dinner so I made BIG salads and topped them with leftover macaroni salad, feta cheese and homemade balsamic dressing.  So good.

Night all.

PS
Have you seen any clips of the Town Hall meetings going on?  Those attending are definately not happy.
