The Red Bird

An overcast day....I expected more heat and mugginess.
After chores I dragged the outdoor arena and the indoor, knowing it would bring on some rain.
Of course it did.

Gota few things done around the house, then grabbed a quick shower and headed into Brockport.

I was doing a little bartering at the Red Bird Cafe.
Traded rhubarb (she makes pies) for chicken salad.
The front of the building is a shop full of unique items, and the back is a tea room.

Do you remember Gracie from Summer Serenades?  Well, her Mom is a retired teacher (who taught our kids) and she has turned into a very successful watercolorist.
Her name is Dianne Hickerson and I want to show you some of her work (which is on permanent display here).  She sells these framed prints and we have two others at our farm.
Notice the way she handles glass and silver.
(Pardon the reflections...can't avoid it when they are framed and under glass)

Beautiful work.

Spent a great deal of the afternoon on campaign stuff, then started on dinner.
Do you know what a veggeti is?
I use it to make "pasta" out of zucchini.

Gary picked some of our alliums for a centerpiece.
He even found an old pitcher to put them in...

He met some friends at Barber's at 5.  They were here from out of town for a golf tournament connected with the college.

Eventually I went out to do chores.

 (Clear communication)

Got the girls tucked in and by that time Gary was home for dinner.

Night all.
