It's a Jungle Out there

Another hot, very muggy day.  It certainly has an impact on me.

It was coolish this morning, but that changed quickly.

Gary continued trimming and hanging the garlic.  Finn came up and worked with him for a few more hours.
I knew we had some green beans, so I went out and picked
enough to BBCue some for dinner.
Also picked 4 beets....
and some green peppers.
Pretty soon it will be time for cabbage.

Talk about Jack and the Beanstalk!
I'm still waiting for Gary to do the hand mowing so he can clean up the spaces between the raised beds.

My only desire was to stay cool.
The porch off the kitchen has been repainted and now we are in the process of setting it up again.

After Finn left, I went down to Country Max for some grain and shavings and also stoped to pick up a few items at Wegmans and Aldi's.  Gary wanted to keep working outside so we did not eat dinner until after 7.  We each had a piece of grilled chicken, pasta salad, the BBCued beans and tasted the beets.  They will taste even better in a couple of days.
The news about Trump getting shot in the ear was quite a surprise. One more person dead and another wounded....and the shooter was killed.  This will be quite the wake up call for anyone out campaigning.  All the talk about violence has raised us to a fever pitch and I sure would not be comfortable speaking to a large crowd outside!!!  This puts a whole new slant on the election.

I called the boys in about 8:30.  Buddy's mask was all messed up and the bugs were awful!

They were very happy to get in their nice, bugless stalls that had cooled off.
Gary had his first garlic customers today....they were visiting family from Kansas City and Gary usually has to ship it to him.  I'm sure he will be filling many of his orders this coming week.

Our gardens are so out of control!  It drives me nuts.  There is so much to do Gary can't keep up.  I pick veggies, make stuff and am the lawn person.  Not remotely interested in gardening.

That's it for today.
Night all.

Hopefully the weather will improve for you.
Here...overnight we had some high amounts of rain along with flash flooding, some mud slides, and rocks slides over roads north of here.

About the shooting. Was I surprised? Yes a bit, but also not. The rhetoric that tRump spews daily and shouts out at his rally along with his vitriol of violence can only cause something like this to happen.

My big fear is this will stoke him and his followers into more violence and begin to throw out blame.

My first reaction was amazingly harsh: Thoughts and prayers.
He won't address gun violence, he will blame.

The weather has kept us from getting the yard and gardens in shape. I can't take the humidity. If we are soaking from that we are soaking from rain.

A georgia congress person had done what I've ben expecting: saying Biden hired the shooter. The is no bottom to this 'party'.
