Bon Voyage

Back up to 90 degrees and muggy today.  Around supper time we had a couple of heavy downpours and I'll bet we got half an inch of rain.

Buddy was out in the pasture this morning and Rebel was in Buddy's stall waiting to eat.

They were not all that interested in going back outside and I cleaned the stalls around them.  They must be spending a lot of time outside during the night as there has not been all that much manure to pick.  However, they must come in to pee their brains out.

When it's hot like this, they come back in before I'm even finished.

I set them up with some hay so they could get out of the sun.

This afternoon I went down to the Village Hall for a farewell/appreciation reception for three of my pals who just got voted off the Village Board.  Margay, Annie and Kathy were there for 9 years or more and did an awful lot of work to make this a better community.  Over 8 million dollars in grants, not to mention upgrades to our parks, the new boathouse, the pedestrian bridge over the Canal, very active with the college and a gazillion more things.  Three smart, hardworking cookies!  Many friends were there, who greatly appreciated all they have done.  I'm hoping that the current employees who work for the Village will be treated well, as they are the key to a smooth transition.  Hoping for the best.
(Thank you Linda Ketchum for the next four photos).

I was there jabbering for almost 2 hours and got home around 4.
Fortunately I had started dinner earlier (cauliflower and cheese casserole with hard boiled eggs) and put it in a crockpot.
Just had to make a quick salad (mango, bananas, grapes and walnuts) and dinner was ready.

That's when it got dark and the sky opened up.

Little Wonder and I took it easy until it stopped pouring.  He chose to stay in and I soloed.

About the political scene.  Is there any hope at all?  Will some of these senators and house officials get their spines up?  I had to laugh when a Texas Rep said they had to support shitler or lose their jobs.  What a bunch of selfish, uncaring about their constituents, the constitution, the planet,  their children and grandchildren..... wimps.  Who would vote for anyone who has helped destroy our country as we have known it?  They must be very stupid if they think people would want to get kicked in the face one more time.  The primary BS is such a joke.  There is no longer such a thing as decency....the party of the inhumane should be so proud.
Night all.

Up and At 'Um

It was so nice and cool this morning I was ready to roll at 6am.  The boys were in the pasture when I got out to the barn.  Buddy came to greet me.

They ate their breakfast and went right back out.
Gary dropped me off at the Farm Market and went to grab some coffee.  There were not quite as many people today and I only bought tomatoes.

I recognized the people playing music and went over to request a song I had heard them play in the past.  Ironically, it was the next one on their playlist.  Love this song.

We made a quick stop at Wegmans on the way home and the temperature had inched up to 70.  Very low humidity and that was a treat.  As you can see, mulch load number 2 is waiting to be distributed.

Little Wonder goes everywhere with me....even if he's hot.
Gary did some laundry and worked on the raised beds.

I took a very long nap and then made dinner.  The salad....marinated asparagus (balsamic vinigarette), tomatoes, chives and feta cheese.
Fortunately we had leftover lemon pasta.
Chores after dinner.

The boys went into their own stalls tonight and waited for me.

A beautiful evening.
Jenny stopped up with some grass clippings for Gary to put on one of his gardens.

We had a nice chat.
Night all.
