A Big Drop

Almost 60 degrees this morning, going down to 31 tonight.  Ugh.

The barn temperature was 50 degrees last night and 50 degrees this morning.  The boys probably enjoyed being naked.

After chores I got a message from Alice, who was up for a spa day.

She arrived at 10:15 and the boys walked right in to the grooming room.

Talk about shedding.  About a bushel of hair between them.

Little Wonder was so happy to spend some time with Alice.

By the time we were finished, the wind was up and the temperature was dropping so I put their sheets on.  Colic weather with these big drops.
I had a "spaghetti dinner" meeting here from 1-3:30.  Chores at 6:30,

and Jenny joined us for dinner.  Cheesy ham and scalloped potatoes
and a salad....romaine, apples, craisins, a handful of blueberries, walnuts, feta cheese and an orange balsamic dressing.

We love having Jenny for dinner.
Night all.

No Wonder We Had A Storm Advisory!

Here's what we woke up to.

Last night the freezing rain covered everything and brought down some huge branches from our willow tree.  Also stripped two or three pines that will have to come down.

The temperature had risen to around 40 when we went out to the barn.
I put hay nets under the shed roof.

The cracking sounds from ice falling off the metal roofs and other branches slamming into the ground scared Buddy and Rebel.  They went out to the middle of the pasture to get away from it.  Eventually they came back to the front paddock and I put hay away from the barns.

Today was the last Winter Serenades Performance and Gary was there hosting.

Now he is off duty until July.

Little Wonder and I binged the Netflix series we started yesterday.
I also worked on some signs for the protests taking place all over the country on April 5th.  There will  be a sign making pot luck supper at the library on Wednesday night and we will be going there with some supplies to help.  I think it will be crowded!  And the gathering at Cobbs Hill Park should be huge.
(Gary brought home some flowers)

It warmed up a lot by 1pm so I took the sheets off the boys and they got tucked in at 7:30 after I used the shedding blade on them and took off a lot of hair.

Dinner was simple.  A pasta salad I made yesterday and some triscuits.
Night all.
