Fortunately we had a lot of sunshine.
After chores I helped Gary pick up black walnuts....thousands of them....and I mean thousands. Yesterday he raked them into piles and today we filled 7 wheelbarrows. If we don't pick them up, we can't mow the lawn.
After all the nuts were dumped, I finished mowing that area and Gary did the hand mowing.
We had a LOT of peppers today and there a still a few more out there.
I decided to sauté them with onions and put them in the freezer to be used in sauce or with Italian sausage.
At 2:30 I had my first appointment with a new dentist located right here in Brockport. For decades we have driven to Batavia...had an outstanding dentist, but it was about 50 miles round trip. No fun in the winter.
I had this brainy idea to make another squash onion pie. Boy it sure looked beautiful while I was putting it together. Onions, peppers, chives, cherry tomatoes, cheese, etc.
The salad looked good....
Went out for evening chores...
and dinner was ready when I got back in the house.
Could not have been more beautiful! But boy! Do I have a hot tip for you! Don't bother using summer squash from you garden at this time of the year!!!!The skin was so hard I did not eat most of it. Next year....zucchini.

Zucchini are such good value. First frost, we might get our last one this week, hypothermia warnings in the south, and north of us, maybe snow in Wellington. But the frost will finish off any lingering germs and weeds in the garden.
We had our first frost last week but it wasn't a hard frost. Thanks for the tip on summer squash. I need salad lessons from you!
