Om paaahhhh. Today State Assemblyman Reilich hosted this event at the Senior Center, where many volunteers made the day for nearly 150 Seniors. We had an authentic German menu and the music to go along with it. In spite of the recent concerns, it was a very positive experience. Jenny brought Coop Da'Ville, who wore an outfit sent over by an exchange student we had in the 80s (after all these years, we still keep in touch with Sabine and her family in Kiehl, Germany). The Chorus and Barbershop "quartet" sang to the Assemblyman, grateful for the contributions he made available to us for this years budget. It was a meal fit for a king and the attendees seemed well satisfied. A lot of work and a lot of pleasure. Tina and Eddie H. know what they are doing in the kitchen, and had the help of many of their good friends...like Hanny, who showed up with her dress on backwards this morning!!!! She acted as our host and did a fine job coordinating the fest (one of her jobs was to help peel 50 pounds of potatoes). Another example of community at it's best.
