I'd Rather Be In The Barn.....

Cool is fine with me.  Could be in the hight 40s tonight!

The boys were waiting for me in the pasture this morning.
After I finished the stalls, loaded up the hay nets for the next five days.  Sabine spoiled me by doing it while she was here.

After chores I got ready to go out to Andreas to deliver this Mattes pad and the saddle pad.  Now I just need to sell my saddle and bridle.  Anyone looking for an Albion SL dressage saddle?  It's in excellent condition.
I also took her tomatoes, beets, potatoes, onions and a couple of frozen bags of sauce.
This is Stormy.  She is there to get back in shape for riding and driving.
Hamisch and Poly were busy eating.
Boy!  Has he grown!
And his color continues to change.
Such a cutie.  He has to be close to 14 hands.

Cindy R. was there and I had to take a shot of her t-shirt.
When I got home, Gary went down to Jenny's to work on her patio with Scott and Finn.  I was not that productive.  Had stopped at the store to pick up some socks and new underwear, and threw all my old stuff out.  Did a load of wash and thought about dinner.
We had grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and a salad.  Delish.
Chores around 7.

A beautiful evening.
Look at all those whiskers!

Thank you for the birthday messages!
Night all.

More Rain.....Yay!

We started off the day with sunshine and by evening chores it was raining.

The PA I saw a couple of days ago called me at 7:30 am to go over my blood work and everything seems ok for now.  The reason I am always concerned about meds, is because I was born with one kidney and want to take good care of it.

When I got back in the house I had a burst of energy and made 3 quarts of bean salad while doing some laundry.
Also picked more tomatoes as Gary was going to make sauce while I was gone.

Bridge at 1.  Ann S. made a carrot cake for my birthday.  So thoughtful and delicious.
I was so sleepy when I got back to the farm.  Eventually made leftover pasta for dinner and went out for chores before 7.  It was raining.

Of course Little Wonder did not want to go out in the rain.  Nap time.

Night all.

What a Difference the Rain Makes (24 little hours)

Another beauty today. Thunder, lightning and more rain last night!  Finally.

Buddy came in before Rebel this morning, then he went back out again.  I got the stalls picked and breakfast in their feeders before calling them back in.  Hope they came in during the storm....there was an awful lot of manure in the pasture in one spot (that I picked up tonight).

The lawn and pastures were greening up even more today.
Late morning I went down to the lab for a blood draw.  My pal Skip's Packard was in the parking lot.
Within 5 minutes I saw 7 friends in the lobby.  We were all on the same page for one thing or another.
Took it easy much of the afternoon.  Cleaned out the chest freezer and made some sauce when I managed to get my butt of the chair I was semi snoozing in.

I've started doing chores earlier as I end up working on my Journal too late (otherwise).

As of today I am 82 years old....here is my portrait on the wall in the barn.....

I got many messages from Sabine after we dropped her off at the airport yesterday.  She had enough time to catch her plane to Germany after she landed in DC....was supposed to get back at 4am our time....10am her time.  She and her horse Nussi were happy to see each other before she went back home to take it easy.  It's a good thing she does not have to go back to work until Monday.  We are missing her.
Night all.
