A very, very busy day!
I went out to do chores early.
Rebel was waiting.
Buddy was in the stall with him and when breakfast was ready he went back to his.
In the morning they are not too anxious to go outside. Once it starts to get hot they want to be inside. Fortunately, when it is cooler at night they spend their time under the stars.
I was finished around 8 and spent an hour mowing in the shade before taking a shower and going to a service for a friend who recently passed away. It was so unique. Walt loved good music and the entire program was based on songs that were his favorites. They were played live on a piano accompanied by a trumpet. Songs like...."The Very Thought of You," "Feels So good," "I'll Be Seeing You," "What the World Needs Now," and "Moon River." So beautiful. I attended the reception that followed for about half and hour, then drove to the Library for bridge at one.
Home around 4:15 and started moving the lawn again before driving Gary down to St. Lukes for the Summer Serenades Concert. The band....my very favorite....was arriving at 5:30.
I went home, finished the lawn, and fed all of the animals.
The lawn looked good. Finn and Cooper were here while I was gone, and helped Gary in the gardens.
Back to Brockport by 6:45.
Many friends were there....a great crowd. It was held inside at St. Lukes instead of the Welcome Center as it was very windy with the possibility of rain.
Gary introduced the Swooners and they played non stop for an hour and a half. This is my all time favorite band....they are so smooth and their sound is so balanced.
I knew every song! As per usual, they had a huge playlist and ended up reading the room and playing songs they thought we would like. Loved them all.
Here a a few clips.
They ended with "Power of Love" and the whole audience was clapping... in the groove.
What a great evening!
Night all.
PS
The peach pie was delicious!
