#7385 Lunch With Mel on Gary's Birthday

My kind of weather.  Crispy with lots of sunshine.

Gary is now 78 years old and still working his butt off!  Fortunately he rested most of the day.

I picked these zinnias for Mel.

At noon we drove down to Mel Smag's house to bring him lunch and catch up.  He's not able to get out the way he would like to, so the Finks and we took lunch to him.  His daughter had set an amazing table and we had a great time.  Thank you Sandy!!!
Fancy!

By the time we left, Mel was ready for a nap.

This evening Jenny and Scott stopped up with gifts for Gary, and didn't they bring us
the dessert I took a photo of at Wegmans the other day.  It's the same thing I made!
The one below is from Wegmans.
We are going to be in the 60s for the next week or so.  Yay!
Night all.

#7384 Milk Weed....

Sunny with a high of 75 degrees today.

I went across the street to talk to the operator of the CAT as we have been waiting to have some boulders placed in our front yard (that they dug up putting in the water line).  Many of the properties have them.  Can you see how big they are in the photo below?
After that I raked the indoor.
It's that time.  Gary is starting to rip out the gardens.
The Finks and the Skoog's are taking lunch over to Mel's tomorrow so I made another batch of fresh sauce.  That is really it for the tomatoes.

It's loaded with meatballs and ready to go.
Alicia is bringing a salad and dessert.  I will make the pasta when we get there.
I was pretty lazy this afternoon.  Read a few chapters of my new Grisham book (The King of Torts) and attempted to take a nap.
All of a sudden, the milk weed has exploded!
I can't believe how many flowers are still blooming.

Gary had grill duty and I made the rest of our dinner.
Delicious.
The rustic tart I made yesterday was just right.  It's a good thing it is small.
Night all.
