Limbo

I  sure have been a lazy bum.
B O R I N G
 P R E D I C T I B L E
The day after turkey sandwich with cranberry orange relish....
 and waldorf salad.
Sat by the fire most of the afternoon and actually started reading.
Chores just before dark.

Filled the water buckets, fed the girls....went to make the beet pulp for morning and the water hydrant would not work!  Yikes!  Nothing happened when I pulled the handle up or down.  Is the barn going to flood while we are sleeping?  Called the man who installed it 30 years ago and he will be on the scene in the morning.  As soon as Gary gets home he will turn off the valve so I won't have to worry.  Fortunately it is supposed to be 50 or 51 tomorrow.

No turkey for dinner.
 Chili, cornbread and a salad.
Night all.

Enough Already!

I set the dining room table before going out to do chores this morning.
Cold, grey and snowing off and on.

Made a quick trip down to Wegmans as I need a couple things for dinner.

Got home and cleaned the brussel sprouts I picked the other day.  Jenny, Scott, Finn and Coop
were coming up for our belated Thanksgiving dinner.
Made some Johnny Cake, stuffing and the turkey went in the oven at 1.
 Late afternoon the sun appeared.

 Scott arrived at 4....
and helped me make potato pancakes.
He actually had to take over while I fed the horses.
I guess I was too preoccupied to take a lot of foodie photos.

It was delicious.  Turkey, stuffing, gravy, potato pancakes with sour cream/applesauce, Mashed potatoes for Finn and Coop, brussel sprouts, acorn squash, cranberry/orange relish, waldorf salad

 and pie for dessert.
A pig out.  The older I get, the fuller I feel.
Night all.

Behind The Curve

No turkey here today....moved Thanksgiving to Friday when we are all able to be together.
Nothing special going on all day long...Gary and I never left the property.
(Apparently thecrazysheeplady and Saint Tim were celebrating over at Auntie Reg's place and my computer won't allow me to post a picture).

We did get some snow last night and it never got out of the low 30s.

Yesterday I bought tulips for the dining room table and a couple of them broke off.  They are now residing in the kitchen right under a loft light.

They certainly brighten up the joint!
While vegging this afternoon, I was watching PBS and on came a documentary that Roger and Tina have been recommending.  "Muscle Shoals."  Have you heard of it?  It takes place in Alabama and is about a recording studio....jam packed with amazing music.  The house musicians were on the recordings of every major player/group you can think of.  Check it out.  There was a definite thread that showed up in all the music...especially at the beginning.   Here is a short clip.

There was a very minor burst of sunshine....
but that didn't stop my pups and I from hangin'.

The girls were ready to get tucked in around 5.

Then, we had our unturkey dinner.

Night all.
