Rain Has Become The Norm...

Doing chores was quite a challenge (the stall cleaning part) as we were without power from 2am 'til noon and with the rain, it was pretty dark in the barn.  Of course we did it anyway.

Took down the art show at the library around 10, and by the time I went back to the farm these guys had most of the work done.  Must have been some accident to shear off the utility pole.

Fortunately the sun returned midday and Gary spent much of the afternoon working in the gardens.
Picked a few berries and some peas.
Washed two of the horses sheets and have 6 winter blankets that won't fit in my washer.

 Evening chores at 5:30....
Can you believe it!  The outdoor arena has standing water in it again.

Stir fried the peas, made a salad and had leftovers for dinner.  No biggy, but boy were those fresh peas delicious.
Night all.

A Very Rainy Day....

It rained last night.  It rained this morning.  It rained off and on all day.

After chores I took a shower and drove down to the village hall for a meeting regarding a mural that is going to be installed in Brockport.  We have been reviewing the drawings by a very talented local artist...Stacy Kirby.

From there I quickly stopped at the Welcome Center to take a few pictures of the "Urger."  She is docked there for a couple of days and you are able to take a tour.

This is sponsored by the New York State Canal Corporation and our newly elected Mayor went down to check things out.

A couple of years ago a roundabout was built in Brockport.  Many people were really down on it as it was something new and different.  I love it!  And this year the flowers are blooming.
Anyway, I have to drive around it to get to Agape.  Only made it once this week.  Boooooooooo.

On the way home I was a couple cars behind this truck.  I could swear I saw "20" on it.  Do you know who I'm talkin' about?  He lives at Punkin's Patch in Kentucky with thecrazysheeplady (who brought him up to Skoog Farm for a visit....twice).

Put the girls in for the night early as they were wet and dirty from rolling.  (And it started to rain again).

We had leftovers for dinner....very good the second time around.
Night all.  I can't wait to get back to my current book.

Play It Again Sam...

Last night I was dead to the world...got in bed at 10 (whipped), passed out within 2 minutes and did not move until 6am.  Very rare for me.
Nothing unusual about chores this morning....

except for that fact that I am ready to clean house, and start unloading some of the stuff that's been around since I had 6 of my own horses.

Like this childrens all purpose saddle....
and the bits from two double bridles.... (not two mention blankets, bridles, blah, blah, blah).

and then there's the utility trailer.  Without a truck and hitch I'm not goin' anywhere.  Already got a couple calls on it...who knows.

The closets in the house are next....I could dump at least 60% of my clothing that I keep saving...for what?

 Had a 10:30 Doctor's appointment in Rochester.
On the way home I saw this fawn cross the road and it just watched me as I stopped to take a picture.
 Chores at 5.

At last, Sally and Judy were available for dinner...and it was an instant replay.

Judy brought a very healthy salad...ummmm fresh strawberries....

 familiar?

Sally brought a very decadent chocolate cream pie.

Another feast....  So good to have our "regulars" back at the farm.
Night all.  (Leftovers for the next two dinners)
