Still life for this morning....very early....
I fed the cats a little after sunrise....
A hot one today.
Gary was watering the garden by 7:15 and it is doing pretty well considering....
The girls spent a lot of time under the shed roof, in the indoor and by the fan in the run-in.
92 degrees is no fun for man or beast.
At 10 I went to the Farm Market in the village. My first time this season.
When I arrived, there was my friend Judy talking to the owner of F. Oliver's Oils and Vinegars.
They had been talking about our farm.
Mark Fenton was in town visiting his parents, and I introduced him to Penelope (owner) Pankow.
They had quite a chat as both have similar interests.
They sell their products in Canandaigua, Rochester, Ithaca and Skaneateles.
You can also buy them at Flour City Pasta.
During the summer, they have interns who work various farm markets. Smart!
Anyway....Judy and I tried both olive oil and some peach balsamic
vinegar.... Wow! That is the very best balsamic vinegar I have ever tasted!!!!
So we each bought a bottle.
Freddy was there!
His Mom and I play bridge together regularly.
I also ran into Lisa, who grew up in the house next to ours. So good to see her.
This is Becca. I had a long chat with her Mom (Lisa's sister) at the graduation party we went to yesterday. Ironic that I would see so many family members in such a short time.
I knuckled under and bought a dozen homemade donuts at Partyka's.
Froze 8 of them so I can pretend we don't have them.
As the growing season progresses, there will be more and more vendors.
Below is Mark K. This is a very special, very community minded man. Once hanging baskets are in place (Main Street and a couple side streets), he voluntarily waters them every single day during the summer! It takes him almost 2 hours and it sure makes a difference....they are beautiful.
We have music....
We have hot dogs!
We have tree surrounds up and down the streets.
Gorgeous architecture and more.
I met Judy and Sally at Grinds for lunch. They have not been open for a month yet, and have already grown quite a business. It's small and trendy feeling. Great atmosphere and a nice menu.
Because I am a great fan of Cubanos, decided to try their Cuban sandwich.
It was GIGANTIC and delicious. Dropped half of everything off to Gary, who was volunteering at the Welcome Center. He was pleasantly surprised.
On the way home I stopped at Wegmans and Country Max where I picked up grain and bedding. Really enjoyed my "vacation" day. Decided to catch up on some Netflix episodes and just stay cool.
Because it was over 92 degrees, we were back on cottage cheese and fruit plates for dinner.
It was pretty humid and buggy at chore time. The girls were swishing their tails.
Got them all tucked in and the barn temperature was 80 degrees again. Hopefully it has cooled down by now.
Now, I am going to go watch another episode.
Night all.

Your days always look fun and relaxing. Oh boy! Mom wants all those cherries
Snorts,

Our hot weather broke with a huge storm but thankfully it feels nice again right now.
That's way too hot! Everything looks great at the market. Love cherries. Hope you get some rain. We need it too. It's so dry out everything is burning up.
